At McKenney&rsquo;s our co-ops are an integral part of the success for our projects and the company, and we rely on and encourage their fresh ideas.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>WHY CO-OP WITH US?&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>A successful&nbsp;Construction Quality&nbsp;Co-op&nbsp;will learn how to identify, measure, and analyze quality risks in the business and support efforts in eliminating them. They will&nbsp;have a hand in&nbsp;supporting efforts that continuously improve&nbsp;our business&nbsp;and&nbsp;optimize our safety, quality, and productivity&nbsp;values.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>WHAT&nbsp;IS&nbsp;THE CRITERIA FOR A MCKENNEY&rsquo;S&nbsp;CO-OP?&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>Candidates must be able to complete 3 full-time, alternating co-op rotations in the office they are being hired for prior to their graduation. <strong>(Fall 2023, Summer 2024, Spring 2025)&nbsp;</strong>Students must be enrolled in a co-op program at an accredited engineering school majoring in Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering&nbsp;or Construction Management.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Regularly&nbsp;communicate with Project Managers about quality events on construction projects&nbsp;</li> <li>Perform root cause analysis&nbsp;of&nbsp;events that compromise quality&nbsp;on&nbsp;construction projects&nbsp;and support initiatives to prevent&nbsp;those&nbsp;events from repeating&nbsp;</li> <li>Regularly review&nbsp;and&nbsp;analyze&nbsp;quality data for significant trends&nbsp;and support efforts&nbsp;in communicating&nbsp;those trends and lessons learned with the business&nbsp;</li> <li>Walk jobsites with quality team to learn about construction workflow,&nbsp;enhance mechanical knowledge, identify areas of waste, and survey for adherence to safety, quality, and productivity values&nbsp;</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Self-motivated and team-orientated&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to use time productively&nbsp;</li> <li>Must be a self-starter with ability to work well independently and as part of a team&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintain a strong attention to detail&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to effectively communicate across a diverse group of people (Project Managers, Drafting,&nbsp;Field Staff, Fabrication Shops, etc.)&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises&nbsp;when visiting jobsites.&nbsp;</li> <li>Work environment involves some exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.&nbsp;</li> <li>Light physical effort.
