Overview: <p>Our Automation Specialist Interns are instrumental in supporting our Automation Specialists in deploying new building automation systems, solving problems, and testing installed systems.&nbsp;They will work side by side with Automation Specialists on active construction sites.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Conduct basic building control system installation, configuration, programming, testing, and repair.</li> <li>Diagnose and repair controls systems malfunctions.</li> <li>Prepare documentation and reports on work status and completion.</li> <li>Provide direct support to Automation Specialists, Project Managers, and Account Managers for the completion of controls projects.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Must be enrolled in a post-secondary or technical program for&nbsp;Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, HVAC, Building Technologies, or engineering equivalent.</li> <li>At least 1 year of experience with building automation systems or&nbsp;course work in mechanical, electrical, or HVAC program</li> <li>Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, web-enabled applications, and database software</li> </ul> <p><u>Preferred Qualifications&nbsp;</u></p> <ul> <li>Computer networking experience</li> <li>Tridium experience</li> <li>Working knowledge of building automation controller configuration</li> <li>Experience working in a construction environment</li> </ul> <p><u>Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, and Characteristics&nbsp;</u></p> <ul> <li>Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, network and wiring drawings.</li> <li>Ability to manage professional e-mail communications</li> <li>Ability to manage and maintain a calendar and task management systems</li> <li>Ability to present a professional, positive, and helpful attitude always</li> <li>Must always maintain professional appearance and communication</li> <li>Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic and timeliness</li> <li>Must uphold company values and demand the highest level of conduct from self and others</li> <li>Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently</li> </ul> <p><u>Working Conditions and Physical Effort:</u></p> <ul> <li>Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.</li> <li>Work environment involves moderate exposure to construction hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.</li> <li>Moderate physical effort.
