We are always challenging our processes and people to grow and make us even more of an asset to our customer.</p> <p style="font-weight: 400;">The successful candidate will work in a team environment alongside other like-minded people whose purpose is to provide innovative solutions to the building automation needs.&nbsp; This key contributor will manage and lead the design process with our Existing Building and New Construction business leaders to strengthen and grow our building automations offering in the marketplace.&nbsp; The efforts of this Senior Applications Engineer should result in value driven designs that consistently and successfully address the challenges identified.&nbsp; This will yield satisfied customers, repeat business and continued growth.</p> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong></p> <p style="font-weight: 400;">The McKenney&rsquo;s ACS Senior Application Engineer will be tasked with the development of control system engineering and standard application software selection for all assigned projects.&nbsp; The system design will be in accordance with the project estimates, the account representative&rsquo;s special instructions and in compliance with the project design documents (plans and specifications.)&nbsp; The System design will consist of submittal and installation documents including:&nbsp; overall control network architecture, detailed wiring termination sheets, parts lists, equipment schedules, sequences of operation, application programming check lists, and point-to-point control system checkout lists.&nbsp; The Senior Application Engineer will be responsible for equipment selection, proper sizing, capacity calculations, and field coordination during installation and final commissioning.&nbsp; The Senior Application Engineer will maintain communication with: the account representative, the assigned control system project manager, Automation specialists and installation technicians and the mechanical systems project manager.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Control Equipment selection and capacity calculations.</li> <li>Proper equipment sizing (e.g. &ndash; Valve, damper, panel, controller counts, memory capacity, etc.)</li> <li>Timely review of all control sequences and components to identify any potential scope gaps, sequence gaps, etc. as well as proactively identifying cost savings measures.&nbsp; Support communication of these items with the Engineer of Record.</li> <li>Preparation of control systems submittals, as-built wiring diagrams and operating and maintenance manuals in strict accordance with the project schedule.</li> <li>Utilization of Project Support Center personnel for Revit work; copying, assembling, and delivery of completed submittal or O&amp;M packages; and material logistics.</li> <li>Adherence to the building design specifications, plans, VE modifications, and salesman's estimate are mandatory in the position as is adherence to McKenney's ACS design and implementation standards.</li> <li>Participation in ongoing review and enhancement of the McKenney's ACS design and implementation standards including the development of standard control sequences. Sequences shall define all parameters necessary for a control programmer to develop the software application.</li> <li>Ability to select the controls platform best suited to meet the functional goals of the project (customer requirements) while maintaining alignment with the project budget.</li> <li>Mentoring and development of Junior Applications and Applications Engineers on the team.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>6 years&rsquo; experience working in an engineering or design capacity on communicating or networked electronic systems</li> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or physical sciences or equivalent technical training in a related field with 4 years of the required experience working directly with commercial facility digital control and facility management systems.</li> </ul> <h5><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></h5> <ul> <li>Professional Engineer&rsquo;s License</li> <li>10 years&rsquo; experience in HVAC Controls, Building Automation, or Energy Monitoring</li> <li>Advanced competency in Autodesk Revit</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITES, AND CHARACTERISTICS</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated competency in Windows, Microsoft Office, function block programming environments, Web-enabled applications, and database software.</li> <li>Must be a self-starter, with ability to work well as part&nbsp;of a team and independently.</li> <li>Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals</li> <li>Ability to maintain painstaking attention to detail while completing multiple or repetitive tasks.</li> <li>Able to demonstrate a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines.</li> <li>Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.</li> <li>Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.</li> <li>Must project a professional and polished image that inspires confidence and trust.</li> <li>Must have PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software</li> </ul>
