At McKenney&rsquo;s, our co-ops and interns are an integral part of the success of our projects and the company, and we rely on and encourage their fresh ideas.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>WHY CO-OP WITH US?</strong></p> <p>The Logistics &amp; Supply Chain Co-op is a three-term, rotating semester position designed to increase the candidates learning of the end-to-end supply chain (Logistics, Planning, Manufacturing, Sourcing, etc.).</p> <p>A typical day can range from negotiating contracts with subcontractors, researching supply chain alternatives, optimizing manufacturing layouts, and performing data analytics to analyze trends. Experienced, successful Co-ops will have the opportunity to manage a new process improvement project from idea generation to final implementation under the guidance of the Purchasing Manager.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>WHAT ARE&nbsp;THE CRITERIA FOR A MCKENNEY&rsquo;S CO-OP?</strong></p> <p>Candidates must be able to complete a&nbsp;<u>minimum of 2 full-time</u>, alternating co-op rotations in the office they are being hired for before their graduation.&nbsp;<u>Three rotations are preferred</u>. Students must be enrolled in a co-op program at an accredited school majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, MET, Construction Management, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Manage process improvement projects including process mapping, standardization, and automation.</li> <li>Develop and implement optimizations for logistics team processes.</li> <li>Negotiate purchase order contract terms with the support of the subcontracts team.</li> <li>Research vendor alternatives and develop unique solutions to resolving supply chain issues.</li> <li>Execute data analysis projects, including analyzing vendor spend, auditing vendor performance, and identifying opportunities for savings on projects.</li> <li>Gain exposure to Excel Power Query, Smartsheet, and Tableau.</li> <li>Coordinate with external vendors to solicit material quotes for various jobs and the shops.</li> <li>Review shop inventory levels, visualize upcoming project needs, and manage pricing.</li> <li>Work with manufacturing leadership to understand current processes and identify and minimize waste by applying LEAN principles.</li> <li>Participate in job site walks to gather performance feedback.</li> <li class="paragraph">Contribute to the fleet and vehicle receiving process by analyzing mechanisms to increase efficiency.</li> <li class="paragraph">Present on a semester-long research project on the topic of their choice for other co-ops.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Gain exposure to the construction industry, manufacturing, and logistics through cross-departmental learning opportunities, site walks, and projects.</li> <li>Lead project teams and company initiatives, such as the Logistics Idea Improvement Committee, in their 2<sup>nd</sup>&nbsp;and 3<sup>rd</sup>&nbsp;semester based on their performance.</li> <li>Work with the Quality Co-op on cross-department projects.</li> </ul>

Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises when visiting jobsites or manufacturing facilities.</li> <li>Work environment involves some exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.</li> <li>Light physical effort.
