Overview: McKenney&rsquo;s, Inc. is seeking a proven business development professional to lead business development initiatives for McKenney&rsquo;s, Inc. in the Carolinas. Markets of focus are Commercial Office (new construction, interior renovation, and service), Healthcare (new construction, renovation, and service), Mission Critical (new construction, renovation, and service), Higher Education (new construction, renovation, and service), Hospitality, Service, and Controls. This position will work closely with the Executive Vice President and Profit Center Managers of each Business Unit to develop and establish targeted relationships and strategies that benefit McKenney&rsquo;s, Inc.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Lead business development initiatives for the Carolinas Division of McKenney&rsquo;s, Inc.</li> <li>Develop, maintain, and execute strategic business unit, client, and vertical market action plans.</li> <li>Build and maintain strong and lasting relationships with developers, owners, architects, engineers, property/asset managers, and general contractors.</li> <li>Provide thought-leadership in business pursuits and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current activities in the market.</li> <li>Track all pursuit and relationship management information through McKenney&rsquo;s&rsquo; CRM system, ensuring all activity is up-to-date and accurate.</li> <li>Market research and trends &ndash; stay up to date on movement in the various vertical markets McKenney&rsquo;s, Inc. serves.</li> <li>Provide ongoing progress updates on new business development activities and other key indicators to management team.</li> <li>Participate in regular calls/meetings with senior leadership teams companywide in pursuit of priorities and strategies.</li> <li>Participate in companywide business development meetings and pursuit priorities and strategies.</li> <li>Help develop, mentor, and grow an internal culture of sales and account management. Key programs will include the Pathway to Project Management and the Key Account Management.</li> <li>Actively participating in conferences/trade shows.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or business-related field.</li> <li>5+ years of experience in the real estate or construction industry.</li> <li>Extensive knowledge of real estate and construction industry and various vertical markets.</li> <li>Strong relationships within the real estate/construction industry and ability to network.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with aptitude to contribute to highly professional proposals and presentations.</li> <li>Self-starter with proven ability to set and achieve goals.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Sales or business development experience strongly preferred.</li> <li>Experience using CRM system(s), preferably Salesforce.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CHARACTERISTICS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Client-focused mindset, identifying client needs, determining decision-making criteria, and aligning these with McKenney&rsquo;s value proposition.</li> <li>Demonstrate a posture of continual learning by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, as well as participating in professional organizations.</li> <li>Ability to develop a rapport with key decision makers and understanding the buyers table (internal and external).</li> <li>Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality.</li> <li>Competencies include Entrepreneurial spirit, demonstrated hustle, drive, persistence, persuasion, team-player, enthusiasm, coachability, and curiosity.</li> <li>Flexibility to travel (limited).</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Moving Safety Forward, our initiative for continuous improvements in our safety culture, reminds us that we are on a journey toward a zero-incident culture.
