Overview: <p><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;">McKenney's is seeking Service Plumbers who will be required to perform skilled work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems. Under the direction of the Service Operations Manager the Service Plumber will install, diagnose, inspect, repair, maintain and service a wide variety of plumbing systems.&nbsp;</span></p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Install, diagnose, inspect, repair, maintain, and service a wide variety of plumbing systems. </li> <li>Repair; troubleshoot and maintain domestic hot and cold water systems. </li> <li>Must have an understanding of various drainage and vent systems and the ability to repair, maintain and troubleshoot. </li> <li>Identify different piping materials and proper tools and methods for repairing and installing the different materials. </li> <li>Soldering, brazing, threading and pro-press. </li> <li>Installation and repair of plumbing fixtures and appliances. </li> <li>Installation and repair of gas piping. </li> <li>Basic electrical knowledge for appliances, lift stations, and water heaters. </li> <li>Safely operate drain cleaning and inspection equipment such as jetter, sewer camera, and drain machines. </li> <li>Determine requirements for parts, materials, supplies, tools and equipment; establish cost of repairs and equipment replacement; check and test new equipment. </li> <li>Operate specialized machinery, equipment and tools utilized in the repair and maintenance of plumbing systems. </li> <li>Backflow Preventer installation, repair, and inspections. </li> <li>Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe and orderly condition.</li> <li>Perform related duties that are assigned. </li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Required:<br /></strong><br /> <ul> <li>5 years of Apprentice School or a Technical School degree, or a combination of journey-level experience. </li> <li>Valid Georgia driver&rsquo;s license. Employees in this classification must maintain insurability during the term of employment. </li> <li>Observe legal and defensive driving practices.</li> <li>Journeyman or Master Plumbing license. </li> <li>Ability to climb and work at heights, walking, and standing for extended periods of time, lifting, bending, pushing, and moving objects up to 75 pounds. </li> <li>Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments; must also be able to drive in various conditions to conduct work. </li> <li>Perform skilled mechanical maintenance duties in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems. </li> <li>Interpret and work from plans, diagrams, blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, and specifications.</li> <li>Follow oral/written instructions and directions.</li> <li>Operate specialized machinery, equipment and tools utilized in the repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems. </li> <li>Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. </li> <li>Work cooperatively with others. </li> <li>Work independently with little direction.</li> <li>Meet schedules and time lines.</li> <li>Maintain routine records.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Preferred:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Standard practices and theory of the plumbing trade.</li> <li>Backflow Certification.</li> <li>Medical Gas Certification. </li> <li>Confined space certification. </li> <li>Experience with operating heavy equipment. </li> <li>Health and Safety regulations.</li> </ul> <br /><br />Moving Safety Forward, our initiative for continuous improvements in our safety culture, reminds us that we are on a journey toward a zero-incident culture.
