As third generation family-owned company, we are financially strong and one of the most technology-driven mechanical contractors in the country.<br /><br />Our Assistant Automation Specialists are instrumental in supporting our Automation Specialists in building long-term customer relations, solving problems, and making recommendations to improve customer systems. They will assist in developing, building, testing, and commissioning building systems such as HVAC, lighting, power, and monitoring.<br /><br />
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Assist Automation Specialists in developing, building, testing, and commissioning building control systems.</li> <li>Diagnose and repair controls systems malfunctions.</li> <li>Conduct basic building control system installation, configuration, programming, testing, and repair.</li> <li>Respond to BAS emergencies during off hours.</li> <li>Prepare documentation and reports on work status and completion.</li> </ul> <br /><br />
Requirements: <p>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>0- 1 year of experience with building automation systems, mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, computer science, OR equivalent</li> <li>Working knowledge of basic electronics, logic, and systems design.</li> <li>Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, web-enabled applications, and database software.</li> <li>High School diploma&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a related field OR equivalent certification</li> <li>Computer networking experience</li> <li>Java or SQL programming language experience</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY, AND CHARACTERISTICS</p> <ul> <li>Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, network, and wiring drawings.</li> <li>Ability to manage professional e-mail communications.</li> <li>Ability to manage and maintain a calendar and task management systems.</li> <li>Ability to present a professional, positive, and helpful attitude always.</li> <li>Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic and timeliness.</li> <li>Must uphold company values and demand the highest level of conduct from self and others.</li> <li>Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;Working Conditions and Physical Effort:</p> <ul> <li>Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.</li> <li>Work environment involves moderate exposure to construction hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.</li> <li>Moderate physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and extensive sitting.
