Overview: McKenney's Inc. is seeking Plumbing Service Technicians to join our team in Atlanta, GA. We are a thriving company with over 75 years of exceptional service to the Southeast.&nbsp;Plumbing Service Technicians will be required to perform skilled work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of Plumbing systems. Under the direction of the service operations manager a technician will install, diagnose, inspect, repair, maintain and service a wide variety of plumbing systems.&nbsp;
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Install, diagnose, inspect, repair, maintain, and service a wide variety of plumbing systems.</li> <li>Repair; troubleshoot and maintain domestic hot and cold-water systems.</li> <li>Must understand various drainage and vent systems and the ability to repair, maintain and&nbsp;troubleshoot.</li> <li>Identify different piping materials and proper tools and methods for repairing and installing the different materials.</li> <li>Soldering, brazing, threading and pro-press.</li> <li>Installation and repair of plumbing fixtures and appliances.</li> <li>Installation and repair of gas piping.</li> <li>Basic electrical knowledge for appliances,&nbsp;lift stations, and water heaters.</li> <li>Safely operate drain cleaning and inspection equipment such as jetter, sewer camera, and drain machines.</li> <li>Determine requirements for parts, materials, supplies, tools and equipment; establish cost of repairs and equipment replacement; check and test new equipment.</li> <li>Operate specialized machinery, equipment and tools utilized in the repair and maintenance of plumbing systems.</li> <li>Backflow Preventer installation, repair, and inspections.</li> <li>Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe and orderly condition.</li> <li>Perform related duties that are assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Minimum 3 years of Apprentice School or a Technical School degree, or a combination of on-the-job&nbsp;experience.</li> <li>Valid Georgia driver&rsquo;s license. Employees in this classification must maintain insurability during the term of employment.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong><u>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS&nbsp;</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Standard practices and theory of the plumbing trade.</li> <li>Backflow Certification.</li> <li>Journeyman or Master Plumbing license.</li> <li>Medical Gas Certification.</li> <li>Confined space certification.</li> <li>Experience with operating heavy equipment.</li> <li>Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.</li> <li>Experience in basic record-keeping techniques.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Must Observe legal and defensive driving practices.</li> <li>Ability to perform skilled mechanical maintenance duties in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems.</li> <li>Ability to interpret and work from plans, diagrams, blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, and specifications.</li> <li>Ability to follow oral/written instructions and directions.</li> <li>Must be able to operate specialized machinery, equipment and tools utilized in the repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems.</li> <li>Must communicate effectively both orally and in writing.</li> <li>Must be able to work cooperatively with others.</li> <li>Must be able to work independently with little direction.</li> <li>Must meet schedules and timelines.</li> <li>Must be able to maintain routine records.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong><u>WORKING CONDITIIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to climb and work at heights, walking, and standing for extended periods of time, lifting, bending, pushing, and moving objects up to 75 pounds.</li> <li>Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments; must also be able to drive in various conditions to conduct work.</li> <li>Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
