Overview: The responsibilities of the DOT Fleet Coordinator include providing support to our truck drivers and our Material Handling Manager. This individual will own maintenance and compliance of our fleet of trucks, trailers, and other equipment in our trucking fleet. This individual will also provide assistance to the Material Handling Manager with prioritizing and scheduling orders and ultimately dispatching drivers.
Responsibilities: <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>DOT and IFTA Compliance on Semi-Trailer Trucks <ul> <li>Track and maintain annual and bi-annual DOT compliance on fleet of delivery vehicles.</li> <li>Report by-state mileage for IFTA compliance utilizing GPS tracking software installed in all vehicles.</li> <li>Assist in pulling tags, insurance cards, and other governmental identification and distributing these to fleet of drivers.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>DOT Trailer Compliance</strong> <ul> <li>Track and maintain annual inspections and DOT Compliance on all trailers.</li> <li>Coordinate repair efforts on all trailers &ndash; remove trailers from rotation until repairs/upgrades are complete and follow up on repairs in-progress.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Structural Trailer Repairs <ul> <li>Coordinate structural repairs to fleet of trailers in coordination with 3<sup>rd</sup>&nbsp;party vendors to ensure these repairs are made in a timely manner.</li> <li>Review the condition of trailers and recommend routine and preventative maintenance.</li> <li>Document all repairs made using Smartsheet software.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Purchase Order Management <ul> <li>Properly code and issue all POs for trailer repairs and outsourced freight costs.</li> <li>Analyze repair costs to identify trends in fleet performance.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Scheduling and Dispatching Assistance <ul> <li>Work with Material Handling Manager to understand Scheduling/Dispatching processes and backfill when he/she is out of the office.</li> </ul> </li> <li>General Duties <ul> <li>Assist with trucking fleets in Charlotte branch as needed.</li> <li>Repair or replace GPS and other communication devices as needed.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> </li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>High school diploma or GED.</li> <li>Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software.</li> </ul> <br style="font-weight: 400;" /><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></span> <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>Experience in trucking or material handling roles.</li> <li>Experience in a dispatch-type role (not necessarily trucking dispatch).</li> <li>Forklift and/or Lull Certification.</li> <li>DOT/IFTA experience.</li> <li>Some college experience.</li> </ul> <br style="font-weight: 400;" /><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CHARACTERISTICS</u></strong></span> <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>Customer service skills.</li> <li>Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.</li> <li>Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.</li> <li>Must project a professional and polished image that inspires confidence and trust.</li> <li>Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software.</li> <li>Must be a self-starter, with ability to work well as part of a team and independently.</li> </ul> <br /><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong><u>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT</u></strong></span> <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises when visiting jobsites.</li> <li>Work environment involves rare exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.</li> <li>Light physical effort.
