Overview: <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>McKenney's Inc. one of Atlanta's "Best Places to Work" is seeking a&nbsp;CAD Intern. The selected candidate will be a member of our&nbsp;Virtual Construction&nbsp;department, and&nbsp;work in a team environment to dimension and annotate CAD drawings for use in the field. Our intern program is a robust experience that offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. We are seeking a highly motivated individual seeking business knowledge&nbsp;consistent with the AutoCAD standards set forth at McKenney&rsquo;s, Inc.</strong></span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong></span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Co-op or Intern shall work in a team environment to dimension and annotate CAD drawings for use in the field from drawings developed by designers and engineers that are consistent with the AutoCAD/Revit standards set forth at McKenney&rsquo;s, Inc.</span></p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Utilize McKenney&rsquo;s drafting standards to create and edit shop drawings.</li> <li>Utilize McKenney&rsquo;s drafting standards to create and edit spool sheets for fabrication.</li> <li>Dimension and annotate drawings developed by designers.</li> <li>Draft redlines drawings from project engineers and designers.</li> <li>Understand layering techniques, pen weights, etc. required to produce a clear &amp; legible drawing.</li> <li>Willingness to seek knowledge from others.</li> <li>Enthusiastic about job responsibilities.</li> <li>Responsible for producing all documents in a timely matter based on job requirements to meet the commitments to our customers, both internal and external.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Drafting certificate or 6 months experience in drafting.</li> <li>6 months' experience with AutoCAD 2018 or Revit 2018 or higher.</li> <li>Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software.</li> <li>High school diploma or GED.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><br /><strong><u>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS<br /><br /></u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to draw simple sections with designer&rsquo;s/engineer&rsquo;s direction.</li> <li>Provide design assistance to engineers and designers.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><u>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:<br /><br /></u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.</li> <li>No or very limited exposure to physical risk.</li> <li>No or very limited physical effort required.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Moving Safety Forward, our initiative for continuous improvements in our safety culture, reminds us that we are on a journey toward a zero-incident culture.
