Technicians should have basic working knowledge of hand and powered tools. Technicians are expected to work in a project environment where construction safety, planning, and customer service are paramount for success. This position requires candidate to become a member of the Local 72 (ua72.org).
Responsibilities: <strong>Duties &amp; Essential Job Functions</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Controls system rough in (including conduit), terminate, and label control system installations.</li> <li>Ability to maintain a consistent and punctual work schedule as required by the Foreman or Project Manager.</li> <li>Ability to comply with current building code and quality industry installation practices.</li> <li>Seek mentorship from Journeyman peers.</li> <li>Willingness to invest personal time in skills and career development.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Basic Qualifications</strong><br /> <ul> <li>HS Diploma or GED</li> <li>Customer service experience.</li> <li>Basic working knowledge of hand and powered tools.</li> </ul> <strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Familiarity with networked or communicating systems such as IP networks, VPN, Zigbee, or WiFi.</li> <li>Familiarity with home automation products and systems such as Apple Homekit, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa.</li> <li>Familiarity with programmable controllers such as Raspberry Pi.</li> </ul> <strong>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Characteristics</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Must have a professional appearance and composure.</li> <li>Must use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.</li> <li>Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed and manage priorities with minimal guidance.</li> <li>Must uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.</li> <li>Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and Web-enabled applications.</li> <li>Must be a self-starter, with ability to work well as part of a team and independently.</li> </ul>
