As a third-generation family-owned company, we are financially strong and one of the most technology-driven mechanical contractors in the country.<br /><br /><strong>Job Summary</strong></p> <p>As a Fabrication Detailer, you will work in a team environment to develop shop drawings and shop tickets / spool sheets that are accurate, clear, and consistent with McKenney&rsquo;s drawing standards. You will also be responsible for incorporating redline markups from designers and engineers consistent with drawing standards. You will report to the fabrication supervisor and be responsible for interacting with designers, engineers, project managers, and field foremen.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Utilize McKenney&rsquo;s drafting standards to create shop drawings, shop tickets, and/or spool sheets.</li> <li>Draft &ldquo;as-built&rdquo; conditions based on redline drawings from field foremen, project engineers, and designers.</li> <li>Understand layering techniques, pen weights, etc. required to produce a clear &amp; legible drawing.</li> <li>Convert architectural backgrounds (using REVIT) to the proper format for use in McKenney&rsquo;s drawings.</li> <li>Effectively and proactively communicate with designers and field foremen during the drafting and construction process.</li> <li>Use web-based tools like GTP Stratus to produce project documents, package drawings, and assembly sheets.</li> <li>Work with project manager and field foreman to create As-Built drawings for projects.</li> <li>Willingness to seek knowledge from others.</li> <li>Enthusiastic about job responsibilities.</li> <li>Actively pursue self-development of skills as it relates to the duties of this job position.</li> <li>Responsible for producing all documents in a timely matter based on job requirements to meet the commitments to our customers, both internal and external.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Drafting certificate or 1 year experience in drafting</li> <li>6+ months experience with Revit.</li> <li>Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software</li> <li>High school diploma or GED</li> </ul> <p><br /><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to draw simple sections with the designer&rsquo;s/engineer&rsquo;s direction.</li> <li>Provide design assistance to engineers and designers.</li> <li>Experience with Revit.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CHARACTERISTICS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to read and interpret architectural construction documents.</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret mechanical design and shop drawings.</li> <li>Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work well as part of a team and independently.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Commitment to detail and deadlines.</li> <li>Must have a professional appearance.</li> <li>Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals</li> <li>Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.</li> <li>Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.</li> <li>Commitment to continuous improvement while adhering to standard processes and procedures.</li> </ul>
