Overview: </span></span></span></u></p> <p style="background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="color:#444444;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">The role of the Technician is to manage and perform startup activities and system performance evaluations on new construction and existing building projects of all types to include documentation of pre-functional activities and the maintenance of action item lists. Responsibilities: </span></span></span></u></p> <ul> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Complete project reviews with the commissioning officer before starting a project</span></span></li> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Manage and perform all startup activities on a variety of project types and sizes</span></span></li> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Document all pre-functional activities in our paperless Commissioning documentation systems</span></span></li> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Maintain a current action item list in our paperless Commissioning documentation systems</span></span></li> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Communicate job status with the project management team on a daily basis and report any issues that may impede job progress or schedule</span></span></li> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Assist the Commissioning project management team with equipment and system startup scheduling</span></span></li> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Maintain the startup crew manpower loading as needed to maintain the project schedule</span></span></li> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Assist the Commissioning project management team with communicating technical detail to vendors or factory representatives as needed to repair manufacturers defects in equipment</span></span></li> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Mentor Commissioning Group apprentices in the performance of assigned duties</span></span></li> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Troubleshoot system problems, provide solutions and manage problem resolution through the Commissioning project management team</span></span></li> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Assist Test and Balance and manufacturers’ representatives in resolving issues that impact the performance of the systems within our responsibility or scope of work</span></span></li> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Supervise other startup technicians and apprentices as applicable</span></span></li> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Coordinate with other trades to keep the construction schedule on track</span></span></li> <li style="color:#444444;background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">Assist the Senior level commissioning technicians with commissioning activities as applicable</span></span></li> </ul> <p style="background:white;vertical-align:baseline;"><u><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in;"><span style="color:#333333;"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;">
Requirements: <p><u>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS</u></p> <ul> <li>Minimum 5 years commercial HVAC mechanical equipment startup or service experience</li> <li>High school diploma or GED</li> <li>Technical School degree in HVAC/R or similar.&nbsp;</li> <li>Must be able/available to travel&nbsp;up to 25% of time</li> <li>Valid Georgia driver&rsquo;s license and clean driving record. Employees in this classification must maintain insurability during the term of employment</li> <li>CFC certification</li> </ul> <p><u>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</u></p> <ul> <li>Experience in the construction industry, preferably with a mechanical contractor, TAB contractor or DDC controls contractor</li> <li>At least 2 years&rsquo; experience managing mechanical related work</li> <li>Experience in servicing boilers and chillers</li> <li>Pneumatic and DDC controls</li> <li>Experience commissioning new construction and existing building projects.&nbsp;</li> <li>MCAA 40 hour foreman training</li> <li>OSHA 30</li> </ul> <p><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS</u></p> <ul> <li>Must be a self-starter, with ability to work well as part of a team or independently as required</li> <li>Strong leadership skills, self-motivated, team-oriented and able to respond quickly to changing customer demands</li> <li>Must have good communication skills</li> <li>Solid reasoning, math, science, and technical skills</li> <li>Must have a professional appearance</li> <li>Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals</li> <li>Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance</li> <li>Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others</li> <li>Good computer skills</li> <li>Must have a working knowledge of major HVAC equipment including large multi-fan air handling units, cooling towers and chillers.</li> <li>Must have the ability to effectively run a startup crew</li> <li>Must be able to handle multiple priorities</li> </ul> <p><u>WORKING CONDITIIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS</u></p> <ul> <li>Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises</li> <li>Work environment involves some exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions</li> <li>Basic construction working conditions walking or standing most of the time and lifting some loads to 50 pound.</li> <li>Work requires extensive local and occasional out-of-town travel to job sites and customer locations</li> </ul> <p>Moving Safety Forward, our initiative for continuous improvements in our safety culture, reminds us that we are on a journey toward a zero-incident culture.&nbsp; In all we do, we must work to build a partnership with our employees, customers and business associates that empowers them all with the ability to do their jobs safely.</p>
