Overview: <p>As a Project Engineer &ndash; Supply Chain, you will be placed into a 12-month rotational program where you will support various departments involved in the life cycle of a construction project. During these rotations, you will participate in McKenney&rsquo;s preconstruction, design, virtual construction, fabrication, project management, and installation phases of a project, as well as the technology processes involved. Throughout this program, you will not only gain hands-on project experience but also learn how each of these groups interacts with the Logistics &amp; Manufacturing Department. By the conclusion of the rotations, Project Engineers &ndash; Supply Chain will have gained exposure to our business, developed strong leadership skills, established impactful relationships, and expanded their knowledge and understanding of the construction industry.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>After completing the rotations, the Project Engineer &ndash; Supply Chain will move into the Purchasing department to assist with process improvement and standardization projects and learn the fundamentals of Purchasing.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Learning objectives in this role include, but are not limited to:</li> <li>Detailing of mechanical systems (ductwork, mechanical piping, and plumbing); coordinating McKenney&rsquo;s work with customers and other trades through the BIM process</li> <li>Estimating projects</li> <li>Interact with our suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors, and work in the field as part of an installation crew.</li> <li>Develop strong relationships with project managers, foremen, virtual construction team members, field operations, engineers, suppliers, and other trade sub-contractors through consistent interaction and communication.</li> <li>Throughout the rotations, work with your sponsor in Logistics and Manufacturing to identify logistics, supply chain operations, manufacturing, technology, and project management career opportunities after finishing the program.</li> <li>These opportunities will be based on candidate interest and business need, and include, but are not limited to, roles involving expanding purchasing support to all business units or providing project management support for manufacturing operations.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree preferred in Supply Chain Operations, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering</li> <li>Must have PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of Word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Strong leadership skills, self-motivation, and the ability to respond quickly to changing customer demands</li> <li>Productive time management to maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals</li> <li>Ability to succeed both independently and collaboratively in a team environment</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and prioritization of the company's needs to maximize profitability</li> <li>Effective communication across a diverse group of people (PMs, drafting, field staff, fabrication shops, etc.)</li> <li>Solid reasoning, math, science, and technical skills</li> <li>Readiness to take on additional responsibilities as needed and independently manage priorities</li> <li>Exceptional work ethic and project ownership</li> <li>Integrity to uphold company values and demand the highest standards of conduct from self and others</li> <li>Persistence to attain results under adverse circumstances and conflict</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated successful experience in the construction industry</li> <li>Experience with Smartsheet</li> <li>Strong Business Acumen (entrepreneurship counts)</li> <li>Leadership exposure (conferences, training, etc.)</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.</li> <li>Work will require construction job site visits. This will require the physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs and ladders, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, and the ability to negotiate work areas under construction.</li> <li>Light physical effort handling average-weight objects up to 25 pounds may be required occasionally.</li> </ul>
