Full Time

Overview: As a Co-op, you will be part of the team from day one and given training and tasks that are important and impactful&nbsp;to our projects' success.<br />Success in this role depends on the Co-op&rsquo;s initiative and teamwork skills.<strong>&nbsp;A successful Co-op will work with Account&nbsp;Coordinators and Account Managers to see a project through completion by the end of their third term.</strong><br />McKenney's has a long history of success in hiring Co-ops and supporting their evolution into industry leaders. Many&nbsp;of our current senior leaders began their journey in the Co-op program.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Assist in managing mechanical, plumbing and/or building automation service and retrofit work, utilizing software,&nbsp;such as Salesforce.</li> <li>Coordinate with vendors to schedule and procure major material and equipment purchases.</li> <li>Regularly update scheduling for project work over the course of the week.</li> <li>Review project drawings and jobsites to develop estimates and proposals under guidance.</li> <li>Obtain, review, and provide submittals for various projects with Account Managers.</li> <li>Regularly lead meetings to schedule labor and review the weekly labor calendar.</li> <li>Survey project sites for adherence to McKenney&rsquo;s safety, quality, and productivity values.</li> <li>Obtain permits and schedule inspections for ongoing projects.</li> <li>Support Account Managers daily in performing various tasks for multiple projects and service jobs including&nbsp;generating POs, making sketches and as-builts, performing take-offs, and developing closeout documentation.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <u>Education and Experience:</u> <ul> <li>&nbsp;Candidates must be able to enroll in a Co-op program at an&nbsp;accredited engineering school majoring in Mechanical or&nbsp;Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a&nbsp;related degree.</li> <li>Candidates must complete at&nbsp;<em><u>least two full-time</u></em>, alternating&nbsp;Co-op rotations before graduation and should avoid a full&nbsp;courseload while working, which may delay graduation.&nbsp; <ul> <li>1<sup>st</sup>&nbsp;Rotation: Fall 2026</li> <li>2<sup>nd</sup>&nbsp;Rotation: Summer 2027</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <u>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</u> <ul> <li>Self-motivated, team-oriented, and detail focused.</li> <li>Productive in fast-paced environments with&nbsp;strong multitasking skills.</li> <li>Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and&nbsp;manage workload efficiently.</li> <li>Effective communicator across diverse&nbsp;teams, including PMs, drafting, field staff,&nbsp;and fabrication shops.</li> </ul> <strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong> <ul> <li>Candidates who can work&nbsp;<em>three</em>&nbsp;or more&nbsp;<em>full-time</em>&nbsp;semesters.</li> </ul> <div><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS</strong></div> <ul> <li>Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <ul> <li>No or limited exposure to physical risk; occasional jobsite visits may require climbing permanent and temporary stairs/ladders, passenger use of hoists, and navigating active construction areas.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Light physical effort handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds may be required occasionally.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
