Overview: <p>Our Automation and Controls Specialists are instrumental in building long-term customer relationships, solving problems, and making recommendations to improve customers&rsquo; building systems. They will develop, build, test, and commission building systems such as HVAC, lighting, power, and monitoring.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Develop, build, test, and commission building controls systems to include programming equipment, condenser water plant sequence of operations, and modifications to the graphical interface.</li> <li>Participate in controls engineering review and provide input on design to identify gaps in sequence operability.</li> <li>Leverage Niagara software tools such as the program service, BQL, and service suite to optimize productivity.</li> <li>Perform in-depth hardware troubleshooting techniques such as accessing defective hardware CLI through a serial connection.</li> <li>Perform BAS service and maintenance, including diagnosing and repairing control system malfunctions.</li> <li>Respond to BAS emergencies during off hours.</li> <li>Prepare documentation and reports of work status and completion.</li> <li>Must complete Pathway and pass performance checkout, as well as hold role for a minimum of 12 months until you can progress to Automation Specialist 3</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>At least 2 years of experience with 2 or more BAS controls platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Trane, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, or Distech.</li> <li>At least 1 year of experience in developing, building, testing, and commissioning complete building controls systems including the graphical interface, from the ground up.</li> <li>Working knowledge of the installation, operation, and repair of commercial HVAC and control equipment.</li> <li>Working knowledge of electrical circuits and systems.</li> <li>High school diploma or GED.</li> <li>Tridium Niagara 4 Certification</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to apply automation solutions and troubleshoot complex problems on automated equipment that is new and existing.</li> <li>Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, network, and wiring schematics, drawings, and diagrams.</li> <li>Ability to manage professional email communications.</li> <li>Ability to manage and maintain a calendar and task management system.</li> <li>Ability to present a professional, positive, and helpful attitude, always, when interacting with customers and co-workers.</li> <li>Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic and punctuality.</li> <li>Must uphold company values and demand the highest level of conduct from self and others.</li> <li>Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently.</li> <li>Willingness to market and promote McKenney&rsquo;s cycle of services.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in related field.</li> <li>Distech GFX Certification.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.</li> <li>Work environment involves moderate exposure to construction warehouse hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.</li> <li>Moderate physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 75 pounds and extensive sitting. Some walking and standing.</li> </ul>
