Overview: <strong><span data-darkreader-inline-color="">McKenney's Inc</span></strong>&nbsp;,<span data-darkreader-inline-color="">&nbsp;one of&nbsp;<strong>Charlotte's Best Places,&nbsp;</strong>to work is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Greensboro, NC.&nbsp;</span><span data-darkreader-inline-color="">The selected candidate will&nbsp;assist in managing the pre-construction, execution, and closeout of new construction mechanical contracting projects in accordance with the company objectives and goals.&nbsp;Duties include but are not limited to pricing change orders, project scheduling, short-term scheduling, booking change orders in internal cost analysis system, procurement of equipment, RFIs, submittals, managing field labor, field coordination, material take-off, and interacting with Owners and General Contractors to procure more work.</span>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Project set up including acquisition of contract, permitting and jobsite plant setup</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Procurement of equipment, materials and subs</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Scheduling of company activities and coordination of schedule with GC and other trades</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Manpower planning and monitoring of completion activities</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Change order pricing and negotiation</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Submittals, transmittals and RFIs</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Oversee and review shop drawings</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Quality Control</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Oversight of safety program</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Maintain current cost reporting and project information logs</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Insure proper start up and commissioning</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Owner training and warranty</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Punch list and project close out</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Estimating</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong><u><span data-darkreader-inline-color="">BASIC QUALIFICATIONS</span></u></strong></p> <ul> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">A degree in Mechanical or Industrial engineering or 3 years of Mechanical experience/vocational training</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">At least 2 years of experience managing commercial mechanical construction projects.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u><span data-darkreader-inline-color="">PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</span></u></strong></p> <ul> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Experience in the healthcare construction industry</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Co-op or intern experience in this field</li> </ul> <p><strong><u><span data-darkreader-inline-color="">KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS</span></u></strong></p> <ul> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Strong leadership skills, self-motivated, team-oriented and able to respond quickly to changing customer demands.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Solid reasoning, math, science, and technical skills.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Must have a professional appearance.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Must be a self-starter, with ability to work well as part of a team and independently</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong><u><span data-darkreader-inline-color="">WORKING CONDITIIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS</span></u></strong></p> <ul> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Work environment involves some exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.</li> <li data-darkreader-inline-color="">Light physical effort.
