Do you want a challenging opportunity to use your construction safety&nbsp;skills?&nbsp;&nbsp;We are seeking&nbsp;an experienced Site&nbsp;Professional to join our safety team&nbsp;in Covington, GA.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;We are&nbsp;a thriving company with over&nbsp;70&nbsp;years of exceptional service to the Southeast.&nbsp; This key position will&nbsp;help the entire safety team to be&nbsp;responsible for project safety accountability programs, accident and fire protection programs and maintaining full compliance with company, client and state/federal safety regulations.</p> <p>PLEASE NOTE***This is a Temporary position for approximately 12-18 months, medical benefits included.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Job sites inspections</strong></p> <ul> <li>Perform multiple construction site walks on a daily basis. Work with crew foreman to evaluate on-going work activities to ensure the safety of the crews performing the tasks.</li> <li>Participate in daily pre-task planning sessions in the work area to help identify risks and make sure there is alignment from every member of the crew.</li> <li>Generate reports through observations or other format as determined by onsite Safety team leader include specific violations and potential at-risk behaviors. Review reports with Safety team leader.</li> <li>Stop the job immediately if imminent danger is presented by uncontrolled hazards and coordinate correction/resolution of hazard(s).&nbsp; &nbsp;Other inspections are done by request from employees, project management, department management, and OSHA Compliance and Consulting walkthroughs.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;<br /><strong>Assist Safety team leader in Job Safety Preplanning&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work with Safety team leader to Predetermine needs for job and workers prior to job start through Job Safety Analysis.&nbsp; Address needs for required certifications, project site orientation, safety training, or standards review to avoid delay and/or violations after job start.<br />&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Mobile Equipment and Tools Inspections&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Inspect mobile equipment for proper material handling and transporting as well as operational items related to safety (i.e. tires, lights, and signage).&nbsp;</li> <li>Create, implement and monitor a monthly equipment and tools inspection program (i.e. color code program).&nbsp; Ensure all pre-shift inspections are completed and documented, as needed.&nbsp; Partner with PM and Foremen to coordinate all equipment/tool follow-up procedures to correct out-of-service items.&nbsp; Perform inspections consisting of job use items such as PPE, ladders, welding rigs, etc.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><br /><strong>Incident Response and Root Cause Analysis&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Report to incident scene promptly and contain area and ensure appropriate medical attention is provided and scene is secured to prevent further injury or damage.&nbsp;</li> <li>Partner with the Safety team leader to coordinate and complete process to complete Incident Report to McKenney&rsquo;s Safety and HR</li> <li>Work with the Safety team leader to complete a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using McKenney&rsquo;s fishbone model to identify key contributing factors to help prevent recurrence.&nbsp; Process may include personnel interviews, pictures, safety procedure adherence, and incident re-enactment.&nbsp; Implement re-training of employees related to incident as required.&nbsp; Perform action steps to be noted and administered for future prevention.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;<br /><strong>Safety Training Coordination, Record Keeping, and Review&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work with safety team leader to coordinates and conduct OSHA compliance and McKenney&rsquo;s required safety training for all project employees as related to tasks and of job duties.&nbsp;</li> <li>Perform maintenance of record-keeping for tracking training and certification information.</li> </ul> <p><br /><strong><em>Performs other functions as may be directed by Corporate Safety Director and Site Safety Coordinator.</em></strong></p>
Requirements: <p><strong><u>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Must have at least 3 years of site safety management experience&nbsp;</li> <li>OSHA 30</li> <li>Basic understanding of construction OSHA (federal or state, as appropriate based on location) and willingness to uphold McKenney&rsquo;s safety expectations</li> <li>High school diploma or GED</li> <li>Must have PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>At least 1 year of mechanical contractor trade experience a plus.</li> <li>OSHA 500</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CHARACTERISTICS</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures.</li> <li>Good interpersonal communication skills.</li> <li>Self-motivation</li> <li>Clean driving record.</li> <li>Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.</li> <li>Must project a professional and polished image that inspires confidence and trust.<br />&nbsp;</li> <li>Must be able to walk and climb facilities under construction in all weather conditions</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;<br /><strong><u>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.</li> <li>Work environment involves some exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.</li> <li>Light physical effort.
