Advisor

Overview: The Career Development Advisor advises students regarding career interests and strategies, job search methods, resume preparation and related matters including personal and professional development. The Career Development Advisor coordinates with the Director and assists in student job search readiness, search execution and internship assistance for students in accordance with Cleary University policy relating to placement.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Meet established goals and objectives as provided by the Director.</li> <li>Ensure accurate entry of all placement activities into the Career Services Portals.</li> <li>Work with local and national managers (in conjunction with the Director) to identify job opportunities for each pending graduate, assist in gaining an interview and winning the job.</li> <li>Maintain positive relationships with employers to place current and future graduates.</li> <li>Engage and actively partner with students from admissions to employment with activities such as: mock interviews, professional workshops, resume writing, workforce preparation and networking events, classroom presentation and career fairs.</li> <li>Assist students in the job/internship search and advise them on procedures for obtaining employment.</li> <li>Partner with students, alumni and employers to schedule employment interviews.</li> <li>Provide excellent internal and external customer service.</li> <li>Assist in development of new programming as it relates to University initiatives.</li> <li>Conduct follow up activities with students and employers regarding resume submissions and interviews.</li> <li>Develop relationships with new employers on consistent basis to generate placement of students and Alumni.</li> <li>Enters all activity, student/grad/employer information and job postings into Handshake system properly and in real-time.</li> <li>Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.</li> <li>Moderate and grade CAR 1000 Courses and assignments.</li> </ul>
