Overview: Provide foundational and workplace skill seminars to students.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Present Student Success Seminars and other workshops to students using active learning methods</li> <li>Work with individual students to improve academic skills, concentrating on study skills, so that the student has the appropriate tools to be successful</li> <li>Work with students on developing necessary workplace skills for job search and career success</li> <li>Assist and train students individually and in small groups</li> <li>May research and develop seminar topics and workshop content</li> <li>Review current materials, including student guides, facilitator guides, and active learning materials;develop new materials to support academic success, including materials and activities designed to practice skills</li> <li>Expected to learn and use Microsoft suites software and Canvas software</li> <li>Contextualize seminar materials and presentations to match training outcomes</li> <li>Collaborate with the Director of Career Services to assess and update seminars as well as develop new seminars as needed</li> <li>Enter attendance and grading data into the student records system as appropriate</li> <li>Mark student attendance in SARS and enter grades in web advisor class rosters</li> <li>Review student evaluations with an eye toward making recommendations for improvements</li> <li>Maintain inventory of area materials and coordinate orders for books, booklets used as handouts, binders, awards, and other seminar resources</li> <li>Facilitate printing and copying of materials</li> <li>Perform related duties as assigned</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Communications, Education, Counseling, Teaching, Training or related area.</li> <li>Two years of work-related experience required in education, training and group presenting, disabilities or learning assistance. Must have experience working with a diverse customer base.</li> </ul>
