Overview: Walsh College is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual for our Director of Career Services opening.&nbsp; This role will work closely with the Executive Director of Business Development &amp; Industry Engagement, as well as the Career Services staff, to help our students and alumni reach their employment goals.&nbsp; This will include, but not be limited to, career advising, employer development and support, department event management and more.
Responsibilities: <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>Provide strategic direction and leadership for a comprehensive Career Services department to include: student and alumni career advising and coaching, job listing service, employer development, campus recruiting, job fairs, employer events, and workshops</li> <li>Incorporate extensive knowledge of national trends and best practices in career services and employee recruitment to ensure cutting edge department</li> <li>Deliver high quality, consistent service to students, employers, and alumni</li> <li>Initiate, build and maintain employer relationships</li> <li>Expand the number and quality of employers seeking Walsh students/graduates for relevant positions</li> <li>Develop employer target list based on research and trends</li> <li>Communicate relevant information from employers to internal constituents</li> <li>Provide career advising and coaching to students and alumni on job search skills, career development and career related issues</li> <li>Collaborate with faculty, student services, student life, advancement, and alumni relations functions to maximize coordination and impact of career related activities across the institution</li> <li>Participate in academic program reviews and accreditation activities</li> <li>Develop and deliver presentations to various constituents</li> <li>Lead and market career events, such as career fairs, employer presentations</li> <li>Oversee computer database, ensuring maximum usage and data integrity</li> <li>Support and follow college policies and procedures, support and embrace institutional vision, mission and values</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul type="disc"> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required, Graduate degree preferred</li> <li>Extensive knowledge of business careers, labor market, and job search skills required</li> <li>A minimum of 10 years related professional experience</li> <li>Professional experience in career services or employee recruitment required</li> <li>Ability to interface and develop relationships with employers required</li> <li>Supervisory or office management experience required</li> <li>Superior written communication, editing, and proofing skills relevant to job search process, superior verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal and coaching skills required</li> <li>Track record of strong student/customer service required</li> <li>Intermediate Word, basic Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills required</li> <li>Possesses the presence to represent Walsh effectively in various situations</li> <li>Ability to work collegially with multiple constituencies in a dynamic academic environment</li> <li>Ability to maintain confidential information</li> <li>Must be available to work some early evenings</li> </ul>
