Overview: The Irrigation Service Technician is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our landscape and irrigation customers through traveling to customer sites to complete startups, winterization, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of irrigation systems for customers.
Responsibilities: <p>&nbsp;Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot and repair irrigation systems.</p> <p>&middot; Perform start up and activation of irrigation systems as scheduled.</p> <p>&middot; Conduct and record maintenance and inspection of existing irrigation systems.</p> <p>&middot; Repair PVC and poly piping systems, including locating and excavation.</p> <p>&middot; Repair and adjustment of pop-up irrigation and sprinklers and irrigation control valves.</p> <p>&middot; Repair and programming of irrigation controllers, and adjusting irrigation controller programs for efficient application of irrigation water.</p> <p>&middot; Use multi-meter to troubleshoot and repair irrigation electrical systems.</p> <p>&middot; Use wire locating equipment to locate wire paths and faults.</p> <p>&middot; Winterize irrigation systems using compressed air.</p> <p>&middot; Locate service sites on maps and drive to locations.</p> <p>&middot; Read irrigation drawings and assist with developing &ldquo;as-built&rdquo; drawings.</p> <p>&middot; Interact with customers to explain all facets of an irrigation system&rsquo;s operation.</p> <p>&middot; Complete required service work order forms listing materials used, equipment used, hours and notes for each service call.</p> <p>&middot; Responsible for accurate recording each day of hours worked and materials used in our time system and job sheets.</p> <p>&middot; Leads by example, and provides guidance for other Technicians and Crew Members, in regards to company policies and procedures such as attendance, conduct and dress code.</p> <p>&middot; Communicates with and provides exceptional customer service property owners and customers.</p> <p>&middot; Identify problems at the work site and follow through appropriately, consulting with Production Coordinator or Production Manager as appropriate.</p> <p>&middot; Operates equipment such as trucks, Bobcats, compactors, trenchers, masonry saws, etc.</p> <p>&middot; Uses hand tools such as wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, picks, brooms, etc.</p> <p>&middot; Keep company vehicle and equipment clean and in good working order.</p> <p>&middot; Ensures daily maintenance of tools and equipment (cleaning, sharpening, greasing, fueling, etc.)</p> <p>&middot; Maintains confidentiality of information including invoices, correspondence, price books, customer lists and information.</p> <p>&middot; Assists with snow removal during the winter months and performs snow removal as business needs dictate.</p> <p>&middot; Ensures compliance with company safety policies and procedures at all times.</p>
Requirements: <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual will demonstrate and perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The ability to effectively communicate and interact, in a positive manner, with all Company personnel, regulatory agencies, customers, consultants and other contractor personnel is also required. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <p>Education, Certification and License:</p> <p>&middot; High school diploma or equivalent.</p> <p>&middot; Valid driver&rsquo;s license with good driving record is required; commercial driver&rsquo;s license (CDL) is helpful.</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>&middot; A minimum of 1-3 years of landscape construction experience, including specialized knowledge of irrigation systems installation, repair and inspection, is required.</p> <p>&middot; Previous experience working as an Irrigation Service Technician is preferred.</p> <p>&middot; Previous equipment operating experience (trencher, excavator, loader, bobcat, skid steer or other used in landscape installation) is required.</p> <p>Specific Requirements:</p> <p>&middot; Demonstrated leadership skills.</p> <p>&middot; Ability to quickly troubleshoot and develop solutions to issues as they arise on job sites.</p> <p>&middot; Extensive applied knowledge of irrigation production experience is required.</p> <p>&middot; Ability to read and analyze or interpret design plans.</p> <p>&middot; Ability to problem-solve and quickly identify solutions.</p> <p>&middot; Must be able to communicate effectively in English.</p> <p>&middot; Bilingual in Spanish and English is helpful.</p> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>&middot; Stands and walks for long periods of time throughout the day.</p> <p>&middot; Squats, stoops, or kneels and lifts objects from ground frequently.</p> <p>&middot; Excavates using hand tools and/or equipment to locate underground irrigation components as necessary.</p> <p>&middot; Full extension of arms above head and in front of body.</p> <p>&middot; Consistently lifts weight of up to 50 pounds.</p> <p>&middot; Occasionally carries and pushes/pulls weights of up to 50 pounds.</p> <p>&middot; Fine motor skills required for use of small equipment and hand tools.</p>
