Overview: As a student in the Missionary Apprenticeship Program you&rsquo;ll work with an experienced missionary team at Prairie Aviation Training Centre (PATC) in Three Hills, Alberta.<br /><br />You&rsquo;ll not only learn technical maintenance elements, but will also gain an understanding of the requirements to be an effective cross-cultural missionary serving in an overseas context, including elements relating to maintenance management and task prioritization, self-awareness regarding culture, and a readiness to receive and learn from another host culture.<br /><br />In the end, this program will prepare you for a future overseas assignment with MAF.<br /><br /> Practical Apprenticeship Track (PAT)<br /> <ul> <li>Enter MAP with Aircraft Maintenance Technician diploma</li> <li>30-month AME apprenticeship training at Prairie Aviation Training Centre (PATC) (Three Hills, AB)</li> <li>Expectation of an 8-year commitment of service with MAF upon completion of MAP.</li> </ul> <br /> Theory and Practical Apprenticeship Track (TPAT)<br /> <ul> <li>No previous AME training or experience required</li> <li>48 month AME theory and apprenticeship training at PATC (Three Hills, AB) and Red River College (Portage La Prairie, MB) or through other approved provider.</li> <li>Expectation of an 8-year commitment of service with MAF upon completion of MAP.</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Successful completion of MAFC&rsquo;s Technical Evaluation and Candidate Orientation training</li> <li>A rigorous technical, spiritual, attitudinal and Ministry Partnership review process will be completed with all apprentices at 6 month intervals throughout the program, and MAFC must be satisfied with development, learning, and progress.</li> <li>Students to provide basic AME tools as needed</li> <li>Active attendance/engagement in a local church</li> <li>Students to secure their own accommodations and cover their own living expenses</li> <li>The repayment of all costs should an apprentice not fulfill the 8-year commitment of service (TPAT students only) with MAF.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Minimum age of 18 years.</li> <li>Spiritual maturity and clear sense of calling to missionary service.</li> <li>Technical aptitude and demonstrated industrious work ethic.</li> <li>Foundation of biblical training or incorporation of a biblical training component into the apprenticeship curriculum</li> <li>Willingness to raise prayer and financial support.</li> </ul>
