Overview: To plan, direct, facilitate, and coordinate MAF Canada operations in Angola to achieve <br />maximum ministry impact and the highest possible standard of services in a cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities: 1.Program management 50%<br /> <ul> <li>Ensures that MAFC&rsquo;s activities in Angola have the greatest impact in places of greatest need.</li> <li>As the Angola accountable manager, ensures all activities are resourced and carried out to the required standard.</li> <li>Ensures positive working relationships with users, missions, agencies and churches served by MAFC</li> </ul> 2. Staff management 30%<br /> <ul> <li>Creates and maintains a motivational staff environment that facilitates effective performance.</li> <li>Ensures that staff personal welfare needs are addressed</li> </ul> 3. Budget and Financial Administration 15%<br /> <ul> <li>Provides good financial and business leadership</li> </ul> 4. Spiritual Leadership 5%<br /> <ul> <li>Sets Christian standards in the working environment and leads by example</li> </ul> 5. Miscellaneous Duties:<br /> <ul> <li>Performs other related duties, as assigned by the MAFC SLT</li> </ul>
Requirements: EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE<br /> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience</li> <li>Team management experience and/or project management experience involving working with others</li> <li>Personal experience working in a developing country</li> <li>Experience working in aviation or related field; MAF field experience preferable</li> <li>On-the-job-training will be provided for approximately 1 year</li> </ul> KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES <br /> <ul> <li>Independent thinking and flexibility balanced with a team management orientation</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills: ability to establish workload priorities and follow them through to completion</li> <li>Effective written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of the Portuguese language</li> <li>Solid aptitude and skills in numerical, abstract, and conceptual reasoning</li> <li>Pro-active, resourceful, results oriented with a service priority</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills, detailed understanding of the cross-cultural context, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions with people</li> </ul>
