Overview: The country of Guinea became independent from France over 60 years ago and is one the least developed countries in the world. The Ebola epidemic had a devastating impact on the country, along with poor infrastructure, a growing population and a fragile democracy.<br /><br /> We have recently been extending our work into Guinea where we hope we can provide much needed safe and reliable air transport for organizations working in remote locations providing water and sanitation, primary health care and HIV prevention, agricultural development and food security, and the development of sustainable livelihoods.<br /><br /> We are looking for a Deputy Director of Operations/Pilot to join the team and help to continue to develop the work that has just started in Guinea. You will need experience in management commercial air transport operations.&nbsp;
Responsibilities: <p>You will need to ensure:</p> <ul> <li>the safe and efficient use of MAF aircrew and aircraft</li> <li>that aircraft are operated in accordance with applicable standards, legislation, and safety policies</li> <li>support is given for the effective performance, development and training of the MAF flight operations team</li> <li>effective and efficient use of resources</li> <li>leadership and care is provided for the MAF team</li> <li>development of partnerships with service providers</li> <li>professional aviation service is given to customers</li> </ul> The role requires you to have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, paying particular attention to the information given down the line of process.
Requirements: <strong>Essential:<br /><br /></strong> <ul> <li>Secondary school completion certificate</li> <li>FAA Commercial Pilots License or ATPL</li> <li>3 years experience in management of commercial air transport organization</li> <li>3 years experience as PIC in commercial air transport operations in the last 6 years</li> <li>Excellent communication skills</li> <li>Ability to speak French or willingness to learn</li> </ul>
