Overview: <strong>We are currently looking for a Communications Manager for our Asia Pacific region who will take the lead in overseeing the capture and provision of a frequent and detailed flow of information from the MAF Asia Pacific Programs to the wider MAF Community. The Regional Communications Manager will lead MAF's communications efforts in the Asia Pacific region. The preferred location for this position is in one of&nbsp;MAF International&rsquo;s&nbsp;Asia Pacific bases of operation.&nbsp;</strong>
Responsibilities: <p>As a key member of MAF's global communications team, the Regional Communications Manager will be responsible for leading communications activity across the region, building strong relationships with stakeholders and teams, both local and remote, and collaborating with the global communications team to align strategies and messaging.</p> <p>As the AP Regional Communications Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>Creating innovative communication campaigns and content to inspire and recruit individuals to serve the least reached communities.</li> <li>Leading communications activity across the Asia Pacific region, including developing communication strategies, managing social media channels, and working with local communications representatives.</li> <li>Building strong relationships with local teams, the global communications team, and external stakeholders.</li> <li>Collaborating with the global communications team to align strategies and messaging.</li> <li>Working across cultures and demonstrating sensitivity to different cultural contexts.</li> <li>Your role will be to ensure that MAF Resourcing Groups receive accurate, detailed and timely information to support fund-raising activities, staff recruitment and prayer activity.</li> </ul> <p>You will supervise the Communications Officers based within MAFI's Asia programmes and provide guidance, support and training.&nbsp;In the event of disaster response within the region you will collaborate&nbsp;with the Communications&nbsp;and Disaster Response Team to coordinate the gathering of information,&nbsp;imagery and film, making it available to the wider MAF community within 24 hours.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>You will ensure all communications provide a positive image of the people we serve and protect the reputation of MAF. This will include implementation of data protection requirements and promoting ethical story gathering practices across the region.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;For this position you will need to be able to travel, sometimes at short notice if reporting on disaster response.</p>
Requirements: <strong><strong>The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:<br /></strong></strong> <ul> <li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a track record of leading communication campaigns and managing projects.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote and cross-cultural environment.</li> <li>Flexibility and initiative to build relationships and collaborate with teams at a distance.</li> <li>Knowledge or experience in evangelical Christian mission work is desirable but not essential.</li> <li>Qualification in communication related subject, such as journalism</li> <li>Minimum of 2 years experience in a communication role</li> <li>Experience in capturing and generating strong content for donor reporting, print publication, website and social media channels</li> <li>Experience in line managing or supervising others</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Completed university education</li> <li>Experience in a fund-raising&nbsp;and / or marketing context</li> <li>Experience in shooting and editing video</li> <li>Experience of working&nbsp;in the third sector</li> <li>Experience of PR and media handling, particularly in response to emergency coverage.</li> </ul>
