Overview: <p><em><strong>Objective:</strong></em></p> <p>Provide Electric Power Steering Tuning/Application Engineering support to Hyundai-Kia Motors Corporation development of new vehicle releases in North America.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><em><strong>Key Tasks &amp; Responsibilities:</strong></em></p> <p>1. Perform subjective and objective vehicle level steering system tuning</p> <ul> <li>Tune vehicle steering to: <ul> <li>Program targets</li> <li>Customer Requirements</li> <li>Consider vehicle ride and handling performance characteristics</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>2. Perform benchmarking activities of competitor vehicle steering systems in North America</p> <ul> <li>Equip vehicle for proper benchmarking activity</li> <li>Conduct objective and subjective steering benchmarking test</li> <li>Create benchmarking test reports</li> <li>Provide and discuss reports to headquarters</li> </ul> <p>3. Customer Support / North American Application support</p> <ul> <li>Support customer with steering performance studies</li> <li>Support steering product development activities</li> <li>Support steering product performance improvement activities</li> <li>Perform Engineering Order Testing in Proving Grounds (Static and Dynamic testing)</li> <li>Plant production support</li> <li>Supporting quality issues and coordinate with Headquarter</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><em><strong>Experience Level:</strong></em></p> <ul> <li>1-5 years of experience within Control Systems or Automotive</li> </ul> <p><em><strong>Education Requirement:</strong></em></p> <ul> <li>B.S Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Automotive)&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><em><strong>Required Skills:</strong></em></p> <ul> <li>Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics and control systems</li> <li>Basic software, electronics, vehicle communication knowledge, such as: CAN, OBD II, CAN FD, Ethernet, FlexRay, Etc.</li> <li>Valid U.S. Driver's license with satisfactory driving record</li> </ul> <p><em><strong>Preferred Experience:</strong></em></p> <ul> <li>Development / Tuning Experience</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively with global partners, particularly Asia</li> <li>CANape or CANoe experience</li> <li>Steering system experience</li> <li>Basic SW programming knowledge&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><em><strong>Language Requirements:</strong></em></p> <ul> <li>English</li> <li>Korean<strong>&nbsp;(</strong><em><strong>Preferred)</strong></em></li> </ul> <p><em><strong>Travel Requirements:</strong></em></p> <ul> <li>Customer is located in Irvine, CA&nbsp;</li> <li>Will spend 5-10% of the time at Proving Grounds (Mileage and travel time compensated)</li> </ul> <p><em><strong>Core Competencies:</strong></em></p> <ul> <li>CAN communication tools (CANape or CANoe)</li> <li>Vehicle dynamics</li> <li>Customer Support</li> <li>Valid US Driver's license with satisfactory driving record</li> </ul>
