Senior Experienced

Overview: We are looking to add an&nbsp;Electrical Product Engineer- Exterior Lighting to our team. This position will review, and support all product designs according to established company processes from quotation through product launch and will play an interactive role as a Liaison Engineer between Customer and MOBIS HQ. Position is responsible for driving continuous improvement of product design for reduced cost, increased performance, and high quality.
Responsibilities: <ol> <li>Customer interfacing/ Liaison works</li> </ol> <ul> <li>All aspects of product design and development, from customer concept thru final requirements, review with customer and communication/coordination with MOBIS HQ.</li> <li>Conduct feasibility reviews and communicate with Customer and MOBIS HQ for all development engineering issues.</li> <li>Control and support engineering data/documents delivery between customer and MOBIS HQ.</li> <li>Support identification and resolution of Quality issues on Head/Tail Lamp between customer and MOBIS HQ.</li> <li>Support customer development stage events based on product development timing such as Lit Mockup and Plywood Mockup sample build, DV/PV Test, EMC Test between Customer and MOBIS HQ.</li> <li>Work on-site but also frequently offsite at customer facilities.</li> <li>Perform benchmarking and technology trend survey on Automotive Lighting system for North American market.</li> </ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Local Engineering work (Future Goal of local Engineering team, with support from HQ)</li> </ol> <ul> <li>Lead root cause analysis and drive proper corrective actions for technical issues.</li> <li>Maintain industry standards while balancing the need for cost effectiveness and high quality.</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of Electrical hardware design, material, and system.</li> <li>Solid understanding of manufacturing processes involved with lighting Electric/Electronic parts.</li> <li>Keen system level focus upon up defining and verifying product engineering requirements and related vehicle interface requirements.</li> <li>Prioritize and guide group activities to design new products, modify existing products, and optimize designs for assembly.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Work and communicate with: Local Customer, Local team members, Research engineers from Korea and/or in Korea - Your project(s) may accompany HQ research engineers remotely or on your business site.</li> <li>Consult with Expatriate coordinator to enhance communication with R&amp;D HQ.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Experience</strong><br /> <ul> <li>About 5+ years of experience in Electrical/Electronic product design or working in the automotive industry.</li> <li>Working knowledge of engineering concepts and principles.</li> <li>Previous automotive engineering experience at OEM or Tier 1 Supplier</li> <li>International joint work experience.</li> <li>Knowledge of DFSS, FMEA, Design for Manufacturability preferred.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Education</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Engineering Degree &ndash; B.S. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Skills and Knowledge</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Stage gate product development, Lean Concepts, QFD, PPAP, and CPPM preferred.</li> <li>Process knowledge in PCB board assembly.</li> <li>Understanding of lighting technology, source types and electrical components</li> <li>Experience utilizing/designing for regulatory testing processes</li> <li>Excellent communication skill in terms of collaborating with R&amp;D, marketing, manufacturing, domestic and third party suppliers and customers.</li> <li>Excellent ability to identify and drive resolution to engineering problems</li> <li>Ability to travel to manufacturing locations in the USA and global locations</li> <li>Conceptual Thinking</li> <li>Monitoring &amp; Feedback</li> <li>Problem Solving</li> <li>Project Management</li> </ul>
