Overview: The Montefiore Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses&rsquo; Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing&rsquo;s Social Policy Statement. The Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard and performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center. <br /> <br /><br /><strong>SCHEDULE</strong>: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Responsibilities: The Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served.<br /> <br /> Has a 24-hour responsibility for the supervision, scheduling, hiring, firing and performance appraisal of nursing and ancillary associates within one or more Surgical specialties in the Operating Room. Coordinates other activities including but not limited to inventory management, budgeting, and performance improvement activities to promote efficient/effective operations and quality patient care. Demonstrates leadership and clinical expertise in area (s) of responsibility. Responsible for developing and maintaining competence of assigned associates.
Requirements: <strong>EDUCATION, TRAINING &amp; EXPERIENCE</strong>:<br /> <ul> <li>New York State Registered Professional License and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State.</li> <li>Master&rsquo;s degree from an accredited program required or must be registered in a master&rsquo;s program with projected graduation date in three years of position acceptance.</li> <li>M.S.N. preferred.</li> <li>Minimum of five years management experience.</li> <li>Minimum of 3 years of OR experience.</li> <li>C.N.O.R Certification.</li> <li>Membership in A.O.R.N.</li> <li>BLS.</li> </ul> <br />
