Overview: The Nurse Educator maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing&rsquo;s Social Policy Statement.<br /> <br />The Nurse Educator actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard performance measures for Montefiore medical Center.
Responsibilities: The Nurse Educator participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The Nurse Educator demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served.<br /> <br />The Nurse Educator is a health care practitioner who is primarily responsible for the systematic process of assessment, development and evaluation to enhance the continued competence and performance/ professional development of the staff at the Wakefield Campus of Montefiore Medical Center. A major component of their responsibilities is to provide educational services to the Nursing Department. Nurse Educators are responsible for ensuring compliance with educational/regulatory requirements.
Requirements: <strong>Qualifications<br /></strong> <ul> <li>Current New York State professional nurse license required.</li> <li>Masters degree in nursing or the equivalent.</li> <li>Three years of active nursing experience and one year of relevant teaching experience.</li> <li>Must be certified in OB related competency, examples: Inpatient OB, Fetal Monitoring, or Maternal Newborn Nursing.</li> </ul> <br /> <br />
