Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Growth hormone teaching</li> <li>Solu-cortef&nbsp;and stress dose steroid teaching</li> <li>GnRH agonist administration</li> <li>Testosterone injection administration and teaching</li> <li>Filling in school, camp, and daycare medication and accommodations forms and reviewing signed orders with outside nurses if questions arise</li> <li>Level 1 RN Diabetes educator responsibilities, which include, but are not limited to: <ul> <li>Complete diabetes-related Prior Authorizations</li> <li>Complete school/camp/day care forms based on Provider notes/feedback</li> <li>Supply organization <ul> <li>Receive education and maintain knowledge regarding diabetes technology including smart pens, continuous glucose monitors, insulin pumps, and other future new devices</li> </ul> </li> <li>Pump and meter downloads and uploads <ul> <li>Updating settings in insulin pumps, smart pen applications, and sensors at the direction of a diabetes provider</li> </ul> </li> <li>Collection of blood glucose data and patient insulin administration records/reports</li> <li>Training patients/guardians in <ul> <li>POC blood glucose and ketone testing</li> <li>Drawing up and injecting insulin</li> <li>Glucagon preparation and administration</li> <li>Other injectable endocrine &amp; diabetes medications, including, but not limited to GLP-1 agonists.&nbsp;</li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <br /><br />
Requirements: <ul> <li>New York State license for Registered Professional Nurse and current registration of valid permit to practice in New York State as an RN</li> <li>Associate or Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree and 3+ years of clinical experience, two of which must be in the specialty or related services</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><u>Preferred</u>:</p> <ul> <li class="elementtoproof">3-5 years work experience in Nursing</li> <li class="elementtoproof">At least one year of experience in&nbsp;an ambulatory care setting</li> <li class="elementtoproof">Experience in endocrinology</li> <li>Bilingual (English/Spanish)</li> </ul> <br /><br />
