Overview: Montefiore Medical Center's Division of Clinical Pathology is responsible for the laboratory testing of blood, urine, and body fluids for disease diagnosis and health maintenance. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Daily evaluation and assignment of technical work. Direct work processes throughout the shift</li> <li>Assess blood inventory, Order blood, assess inventory of reagents and supplies, and order as necessary</li> <li>Perform technical or clerical work as necessary</li> <li>Test, Reagent and Equipment Quality Control to assist/perform process/procedure validation as necessary</li> <li>Perform personnel scheduling. Prepare and/or review payroll (if designated Kronos user)</li> <li>Perform staff training &amp; resident teaching</li> <li>Ensure that work is performed accurately and in a timely fashion</li> <li>Perform annual competency assessments and/or performance evaluation of technical staff</li> </ul> <br /> <br />
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree required</li> <li>NYS Department of Education Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required&nbsp;</li> <li>To qualify for a supervisor position, as per NYS DOE, 4 years of bench experience as CLT required (2 years could be substituted for a master&rsquo;s degree in Science or Arts)</li> <li>Experience with blood for patients with difficult antibody problems required</li> <li>Understand the dynamics involved in running a massive transfusion protocol</li> <li>Experience with Neonatal transfusion</li> </ul> <br /> <br />
