Overview: Assists with lab coverage in support of deceased donor transplant programs.
Responsibilities: Responsible for overseeing HLA laboratory's quality assurance system that supports the transplant programs; primary responsibility of validation and implementation processes in collaboration with the HLA laboratory director; ensures regulatory compliance; staff training and competency assessment; and research and development activities.
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree required 3 years of laboratory training or experience in clinical laboratory preferably histocompatibility, immunogenetics and/or transplantation immunology.</li> <li>Certification by the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI) as a Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) or Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS); certification is highly preferred, but not required.</li> <li>Experience with document control systems.</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office.</li> <li>Ability to lead, coach, and develop staff.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.</li> <li>Ability to retain confidential information.</li> <li>Ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization to influence participation in development, quality, and safety related programs/activities.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver results.</li> <li>Ability to implement suggestions and recommendations.</li> <li>Proficiency in managing HistoTrac and/or other laboratory information systems.</li> <li>Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing is highly preferred, but not required.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><br /><br />Montefiore Medical Center is an equal employment opportunity employer.
