Associates are eligible to apply for a transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Probationary period is four (4) months for full-time employees, and six (6) months for part-time employees. <br /><br /><br />Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients. Assesses patients, develops, and documents nursing care and discharge plans, and prepares and administers medications and interventions.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Supervises nursing attendants and ancillary staff in patient care activities.</li> <li>Superb communication and customer service skills are required at all times to interact effectively with all patients.</li> <li>The Staff Nurse will assist with the following procedures: prostate biopsy, prostate fusion biopsy, cystoscopy, bladder biopsy, vasectomy and laceration removal, with approximately 100 procedures being done on a weekly basis.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>New York State Registered Professional Nursing license and current registration.</li> <li>Basic Life Support.</li> <li>Effective English communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal.</li> <li>Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval system.</li> <li>Use of patient care equipment as authorized by scope of practice.</li> <li>Use of electronic clinical information system.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> Montefiore Medical Center is an equal employment opportunity employer.
