In the 2021-2022 Best Children's Hospitals rankings, Neonatology, Pediatric Cancer and Gastroenterology &amp; GI Surgery ranked among the top 20 programs in the country, and Nephrology and Neurology &amp; Neurosurgery are in the top 50. Our physicians are pioneers in their fields, redefining the management and treatment of complex and chronic conditions in children. Pediatric anesthesiologists are fully integrated into this framework, working with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.<br /><br />Due to growth and needs of services in the communities, we are seeking 2-3 Board Certified Pediatric Anesthesiologists at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center (CHAM), Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Our Pediatric Anesthesiology team of 5 Board Certified physicians provide anesthetic management to over 5,500 pediatric surgical cases annually as well as management for non-operative services. Must be proficient in all Neonates, infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, and adults. You will also be expected to provide Anesthesia service to adult patients approximately 35% of the time. Bread and butter, as well as complex specialty care in operative and non-operative anesthesia locations (radiology, endoscopy, cath lab). There is some CRNA supervision (Occasionally 1-2). Pager call after completion of daytime clinical duties. 1-2 weekday pager calls/week and 1 weekend/month for now. &nbsp;
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>All pediatric surgical specialties are represented at CHAM, including a congenital heart center, solid organ transplant team and a level 4 NICU (no trauma). &nbsp;</li> <li>Applicants will provide care for pediatric as well as adult patients and supervise residents, fellows and CRNAs. &nbsp;</li> <li>Our physicians care for premature babies, newborns, children, and adolescents for routine surgery for the ear, nose, throat, genitourinary operations, general surgery and complex operations for craniofacial reconstruction, neurosurgery, and organ transplantation.</li> <li>We provide anesthetic management of the pediatric patient for cardiac catheterizations, diagnostic imaging, neurological interventional radiology, vascular and interventional radiology, gastrointestinal endoscopy, bronchoscopy and hematologic/oncologic procedures. &nbsp;</li> <li>Our Anesthesiologists constantly monitor the child's vital functions and modify anesthetics to ensure maximum safety and comfort.</li> <li>Additionally, our team provides acute pain services for patient-controlled epidural analgesia, perineural catheters and regional nerve blocks.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
