Overview: <p>For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>To learn more about the &ldquo;Montefiore Difference&rdquo; &ndash; who we are at Montefiore and all that we have to offer our associates, please click <a href="http://www.mymontebenefits.com/montefiore-difference" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">here</a>. &nbsp;<br /><br /></p> <p>Temporary Hire</p> <p>Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a nurse preceptor and attends educational programs throughout a winter session; to enhance the learning experience.</p> <p>The Clinical Assistant Student Nurse position provides an opportunity for nursing students enrolled in an accredited nursing baccalaureate or Associate degree program to become familiar with the role of the registered professional nurse and to develop organizational, communication, and team-building skills under the supervision and guidance of a registered nurse preceptor.</p> <p>The scope of practice of the Clinical Assistant is that of a Nursing Attendant and the associate performs responsibilities and job duties of the Nursing Attendant while learning and observing the role of the Registered Nurse.</p> <p>The Clinical Assistant in the role of Nursing Attendant is a member of a team dedicated to provide the highest quality care and services to our patients by assisting in such functions as maintaining a safe, clean and functional environment; assisting with dietary aspects of care; facilitating communication, i.e., answering phones; transporting patients and assisting visitors. As an integral part of the team, the Clinical Assistant is responsible for activities, which promote patient focused care within the Patient Unit.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>The Clinical Assistant will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a professional registered nurse preceptor within the scope of practice of a nursing attendant.</li> <li>The Clinical Assistant provides direct patient care in accordance with the goals and objectives of Montefiore Nursing Services under the guidance of the Registered Professional Nurse.</li> <li>The Clinical Assistant demonstrates expected conduct, behavior and accountability.</li> <li>The Clinical Assistant supports the vision, mission, values and balanced score card performance measures for MMC Nursing Services Nursing Services and participates in achieving the objectives and balanced scorecard performance measures at the unit level.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent.</li> <li>Completed at least two semesters of clinical experience as a baccalaureate student or first year as an Associate degree nursing student, and maintained a GPA of 3.0 or better.</li> <li>Knowledge in the use of Patient Care equipment.</li> <li>If accepted, Clinical Assistants must be committed to work full-time through the dates of the program: December 22nd, 2025 - January 16th, 2026.</li> <li>You will be assigned to an RN preceptor and will work the same schedule as your preceptor which includes three 11.5-hour shifts with scheduled weekends. A shift is 7:00 am to 7:30 pm or 7:00 pm to 7:30 am.</li> <li>You must provide your own housing and transportation.</li> </ul>
