This specialized unit will enhance access to timely, developmentally appropriate mental health services, offering a safe, structured, and compassionate environment to support patients in crisis and help stabilize their condition.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>As part of our efforts to build a strong, multidisciplinary team, we are currently seeking a Registered Nurse.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care within the Child &amp; Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit, supporting youth experiencing acute psychiatric crises.</li> <li>Utilizing behavioral health expertise and trauma-informed care principles, the RN delivers safe, therapeutic, and developmentally appropriate interventions.</li> <li>This role involves active participation in performance improvement and research initiatives with adherence to professional practice standards, and continuous development of clinical expertise.</li> <li>Additionally, the RN demonstrates strong leadership skills and maintains core and unit-specific competencies tailored to the needs of the patient population, with a specialized focus on psychiatric care and behavioral health nursing practices.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Current New York State License and Registration as a Registered Professional Nurse.</li> <li>Minimum of 1-2 years of inpatient pediatric and/or psychiatric nursing experience, preferably in child/adolescent behavioral health.</li> <li>Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training.</li> <li>Willingness to complete training in behavioral health nursing, including trauma-informed care and/or crisis prevention within 6 months of hire.</li> </ul> <br /> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with children and adolescents in psychiatric or acute care settings.</li> <li>Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).</li> <li>Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMHN-BC).</li> <li>Experience in acute psychiatric settings with an emphasis on trauma-informed care, crisis prevention, and therapeutic engagement.</li> </ul> <br /><br /> <p><strong><u>ASSOCIATE REFERRAL PROGRAM</u></strong></p> <p><em>NYSNA members who refer candidates for NYSNA positions receive $3,500!</em></p> <p><em>Other Associates referring an RN receive $2,500!</em></p> <p><em>Qualified candidates must have or be eligible for NYS RN License, must include referring associates name within their application &amp;</em>&nbsp;<em>successfully complete their probationary period!</em></p> <p><em>Full Time &amp; Part Time ONLY &ndash; does not apply to Per Diem positions</em></p>
