Overview: <p>For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.</p> <br />The RN maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise. This role demonstrates core and specific competencies based on care required for the pre/post operative patient population served for the Specialty Surgeons of Connecticut Practice. The RN will be scheduled on an hourly basis determined by the provided schedule, patient visits and follow-up care required.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Coordinates a plan of care for patients and families for pre- and post-operative visits.</li> <li>Documents and demonstrates teaching/learning needs of patients and families for pre- and post-operative visits.</li> <li>Documentation reflects systematic and continuous collection of data.</li> <li>Documents all relevant case and patient information in EMR.</li> <li>Utilizes knowledge of nursing, research and evidence-based practice in the application of care and clinical judgment.</li> <li>Responds appropriately to urgent/emergent situations.</li> <li>Administers medication according to the medication administration policy.</li> <li>Integrates the standards of excellence into daily clinical practice.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with written policies, procedures and standards of practice/care.</li> <li>Maintains licensure and current registration.</li> <li>Maintains mandatory certification, and competency including but not limited to annual review, BLS, etc.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>BS NYSED accredited institution Preferred.</li> <li>4-6 years Per educational requirements for RN.</li> <li>OHS Fit Test Required.</li> <li>OHS Annual Assessment Required.</li> <li>Registered Nurse New York NCLEX Required.</li> <li>Basic Life Support Required.</li> <li>New York State Infection Control Coursework.</li> </ul>
