Overview: <p>Strong knowledge of healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement processes. Maintains in-depth knowledge of insurance follow-up and denials systems, department policies, procedures and workflows.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Ability to analyze trends, develop and maintain performance goals and regularly provide information to senior management.</li> <li>Ability to work in a matrix environment where multiple and competing customer demands are likely.</li> <li>Requires exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prioritize work to ensure accuracy and timely completion.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Department Duties</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to manage multiple initiatives, identify and prioritize issues to meet aggressive deadlines and organizational goals.</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead revenue cycle improvement initiatives.</li> <li>Ability to work, plan, research and conduct projects with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, providers, insurance companies, and internal staff.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple demands and projects.</li> <li>Ability to work with a diverse patient and staff population.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>High School diploma/ GED Required.</li> <li>1-3 years' Dental Billing Required.</li> <li>1-3 years' Orthodontics billing Preferred.</li> <li>EPIC enterprise system preferred.</li> <li>Knowledge of various types of health insurance and other third-party reimbursement, healthcare billing practices, automated billing and accounting systems, collection laws and techniques on working with patients&rsquo; ability to meet payment obligation.</li> <li>Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritizes, and meets deadlines.</li> <li>Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills in dealing with insurance and patient estimate issues.</li> <li>Capable of communicating effectively with patients and the healthcare team, including the ability to explain billing procedures, insurance benefits to patients and collect payments.</li> <li>Requires exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prioritize work to ensure accuracy and timely completion.</li> <li>Ability to effectively work and communicate with patients, co-workers, and management both in person and remote virtual chat environments.</li> <li>Maintains in-depth knowledge of insurance follow-up and denials systems, department policies, procedures and workflows.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of Health plan requirements.</li> </ul>
