Overview: Under close supervision, the <strong>Dental Assistant </strong>assists Dentists in the performance of dental procedures on patients.&nbsp;<br /><br /><strong>Work Schedule will be as follows:</strong><br />Monday - 9:30-6pm<br />Tuesday - 9:30-6pm<br />Wednesday - 11-7:30pm<br />Thursday - 9:30-6pm<br />Friday - 9:30-6pm
Responsibilities: <ul> <li> <p>Appropriately hands dental instruments to dentist during treatment of patients</p> </li> <li> <p>Arranges operating area with all necessary supplies and equipment<br />* Knowledge of what is needed for procedures</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Maintains inventory list of supplies and instruments<br />* Uses logs</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Completes X-rays ordered by dentist</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Maintains sanitary conditions of all operatory and clean and soiled areas<br />* Keep clinic very clean</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Ensures appropriate sterility and quality control are maintained in autoclaving and preparing sterile solutions<br />* Maintains logs, checks reports, changes solutions regularly</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Maintains equipment in clean working order and retains copies of preventive maintenance and quality control<br />* Maintains equipment and informs when repairs needed</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Neat, clean, proper attire, professional uniform as per policy.<br />* Present clean and neat work appearance</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Treat all co-workers with respect and work with them in a spirit of cooperation.<br />* Cooperates in working with other employees</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Assist with orientation/procedures for new dental associates.<br />* Support and nurture new /current coworker.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Retracts patients mouth and operates suction equipment to maintain mouth free of secretions.</p> </li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li> <p>High School/ GED Required</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>1-3 years experience in a dental setting Required</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Experience in customer service and multi-tasking strongly Preferred</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Dental x-ray equipment; mixing unit for amalgam; autoclave; ; all dental equipment; computer system and terminal including Epic, EMR, SAP, Word, and Excel; and telephone.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel required.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Must have ability to use data entry and retrieval systems.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Must have ability to use electronic communication and patient information systems.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>If health center has a significant (more than 35%) English Language learner population e.g. Spanish then proficiency in that secondary language is preferred.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Must have ability to function independently in accordance with polices and procedures.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Dental assistant certificate Preferred</p> </li> </ul>
