Overview: The candidate should have experience with patient assessment, exercise prescription, ECG telemetry monitoring, patient education and supervision of cardiac patients.&nbsp;<br /><br /> <p>For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Conduct new patient tours and interviews</li> <li>Prepare initial exercise prescriptions</li> <li>Conduct new patient orientations</li> <li>Upgrade exercise prescriptions on a weekly basis</li> <li>Supervision of phase II exercise classes</li> <li>Prepare summary reports for all Phase II patients at the end of their 10th week of program participation.</li> <li>Monitor graduation dates and conduct graduation consultations at 30th session</li> <li>In consultation with program director, prepare medical necessity reports in response to insurance carrier inquiries</li> <li>Prepare medical alert documentation for referring physicians</li> <li>On a regular basis, check for and reorder necessary exercise program supplies</li> <li>Maintain daily quality control for all exercise telemetry equipment</li> <li>Maintain adequate quantities for all program forms</li> <li>Prepare maintenance exercise program for new phase II graduates</li> <li>Prepare home exercise programs with associated approval of primary MD</li> <li>Daily check of all emergency medical equipment &amp; crash cart</li> <li>Be familiar with code 04 procedures and your special responsibilities</li> <li>Participate in weekly summary conference meetings with program director</li> <li>Provide as needed ECG monitoring &amp; documentation of exercise classes</li> <li>Conduct patient education lectures</li> <li>Performs other duties as requested by Director/VP, Outpatient Services</li> <li>Practices Standard Precautions</li> <li>Personally adheres to Service Excellence standards by demonstrating positive communication, prompt &amp; respectful service and maintaining an appropriate work environment when working with patients, staff, co-workers, visitors and others.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>BS Required</li> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills; high level of enthusiasm and dedication to all members.</li> <li>Ability to listen, offer support, encouragement and empathy when necessary to all members but specifically to those members who are chronically ill and could be experiencing living challenges.</li> <li>Must be physically capable of leading slightly vigorous exercise programs and be able to assist participants on/off exercise equipment; adjust body position settings on exercise equipment; set up /breakdown chairs; occasional lifting/moving exercise equipment up to 50 pounds and program materials.</li> <li>Physical and manual dexterity required.</li> <li>A lot of stopping, bending, agile movement, bending, twisting, and hand dexterity</li> <li>Excellent communication and social skills are essential.</li> <li>A Baccalaureate Degree in Exercise Science with ACSM Exercise Specialist Certification or a Master's degree with ACSM certification as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist is preferred.</li> <li>Position requires a current BLS certification and attainment of ACLS certification.</li> </ul> <br /><br />\
