As an integral part of the team, the nursing technician is responsible for activities, which promote patient-focused care within the patient unit.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>The nursing technician provides safe direct patient care under the guidance of the professional registered nurse.</li> <li>The nursing technician provides indirect patient care under the direction of the registered professional nurse and according to the goals and medical care plan of the patient.</li> <li>The nursing technician demonstrates expected conduct, behavior and accountability.</li> <li>The nursing assistant supports the vision, mission, and values of the organization.</li> <li>Maintains responsibility and accountability for own practice.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>High School Required.</li> <li>Customer Service.</li> <li>Identification of clinical alarms.</li> <li>Use of patient care equipment; bed alarm and scale, geri chairs, stretchers, wheelchairs, bed, equipment for specialty unit.</li> <li>Body Mechanics.</li> <li>Isolation Precautions.</li> <li>Safety precautions.</li> <li>Aspiration Precautions.</li> <li>Communicates with the use of AIDET.</li> <li>Phlebotomy Skills.</li> <li>EKG recording.</li> <li>Blood pressure reading.</li> <li>Unit-based specialty skills need to perform job functions efficiently.</li> <li>Completion of a technician program or hospital program Required.</li> </ul>
