Overview: Oversee all operations of 150 bed hospital-based nursing home, including 50 bed rehabilitation unit returning 600 patients to the community annually, oversee a 35 slot Adult Day Program and participate on Health System administrative committees.
Responsibilities: Plan, organize, direct, control and coordinate all areas of the nursing home operation in accordance with established policies and procedures based on Federal and State Legislation.
Requirements: <p><strong><u>Knowledge Required:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum 10 years relevant progressive management experience in a healthcare setting</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting</li> <li>Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Demonstrates leadership ability</li> <li>Knowledge of New York State and Federal Regulations governing long term care</li> <li>Ability to work with a variety of computerized software</li> </ul> <strong><u>Problem Solving</u></strong><u>:</u><br /> <ul> <li>Articulating the vision of the nature and purpose of long term care</li> <li>Articulating, educating and modelling that person-centered care is the ultimate goal of long term care</li> <li>Creating a culture of quality within the organization that creates an environment that promotes quality of life for the residents</li> <li>Being a leader who through action and words, sets the tone, mentors staff, nurtures individuals, encourages teamwork and creates a positive work setting</li> <li>Knowing that financial viability is essential to provide care and services</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Working Relationships</u>:</strong><br />New York State Department of Health : Experience with DOH Annual Unannounced Surveys, Reporting of Required Regulatory Data and responding to Incidents or Complaints reported.</p> <p><strong><u>Education and Experience:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Master's in Business Administration or related field preferred; Bachelor's degree required in healthcare or related field.</li> <li>Minimum 10 years relevant progressive management experience in a healthcare setting</li> </ul>
