This is an opportunity for someone who can pivot on demand and create unique training modules and content, someone who wants to be a key player on a lean team and is ready to jump in to grow this initiative from the ground up. Our unique approach is that each learning specialist is responsible for their own projects from end to end &ndash; needs assessment, instructional design, creating learning artifacts, and evaluation. With a new learning portal in place, you will also be responsible for learning portal administration with the support of other team members. We are looking for a Learning Specialist to align with business partners and work along side employees in the field to determine learning needs for internal and external audiences. This is an exciting opportunity to expand the scope of our learning programs, work on external promotion and put ideas into motion.<br /><br /><strong><u>Who You Are<br /><br /></u></strong>You are a Learning Specialist and you have experience completing a needs assessment, and designing interactive and engaging learning content to drive behaviour change. It would be an asset if you have a health care provider background (Occupational Therapist, Nurse, Kinesiologist, Physiotherapists etc.) or have industry related experience. You may be working at a company revising and reviewing existing courseware, but you want to be at a place with a purpose where you can design and develop brand new content. Responsibilities: <strong><u>What You Will Do<br /></u></strong> <ul> <li>Manage the design, delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement of training programs. You will:<br /> <ul> <li>Follow adult instructional design best practices.</li> <li>Conduct specific training needs assessments and analysis to support the design, development, and delivery of learning content and strategies.</li> <li>Collaborate with subject matter experts and business leaders to create ongoing learning opportunities that support the organization's and the industry's needs from sales and customer service to in-depth product knowledge and maintenance.</li> <li>Develop training materials that support internal and external learners including audio files, videos, job aids, roleplays, games, models, multimedia visual aids, e-learning.</li> <li>Ensure engagement through a variety of training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness and participation in training programs.</li> <li>Implement. You will use the learning portal to create, build upon and maintain an effective knowledge management system/library for training and process purposes.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Facilitate. You will deliver train-the-trainer courses for internal and external audiences.</li> <li>Monitor and measure. You will regularly monitor and measure the effectiveness of all learning content through the use of post-training evaluations, validation activities, exams/quizzes, and observation.</li> <li>Administer &ndash; administration of the learning portal and address any learner issues identified via the helpdesk</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong><u>What You Bring<br /></u></strong> <ul> <li>The experience. You have 3 - 5 years of adult education experience focused on digital and blended learning. You have strengths in writing and editing content with a real purpose that solves problems. You can plan and execute learning-based projects in consultation with business experts, leaders and frontline staff.</li> <li>The personality. You are energetic and passionate, with the drive for excellence and making things happen. You can work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.</li> <li>The toolkit. You have expertise with e-Learning tools such as Articulate 360, and H5P. You have experience with graphic design, video, micro-learning, responsive design, gamification, simulations, animation/motion graphics. You are proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office.</li> <li>The creative and energetic approach. You have a high-energy, enthusiastic, motivational facilitation style and an innovative approach to designing and delivering training. You can adapt your style to your audience and medium.</li> <li>The outstanding communication style. You have an engaging and warm in-person, online and classroom presence. Your verbal, presentation and written skills are exceptional.</li> <li>The insights. You have unbeatable listening and analytical skills. You can hone in on what areas new and seasoned employees and industry professionals need training and development. You can dig deeper, reflect, and come up with an award-winning option every time!</li> <li>The time management skills.
