Overview: <p>As an <strong><em>Automotive Paint and Finishing Technician,</em></strong> you will report to the Global Finishing Operation Manager, and work in an exciting and dynamic vehicle development and engineering facility. You will responsible for the application of primer and paint as well as the finishing of composite components manufactured by the company.</p> <p>This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who desires hands-on experience with high performance vehicles, advanced composites, the latest in automotive paint and finishing solutions, and has a real interest in automobiles and motorsports.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Apply coatings to composite components using various spray methods</li> <li>Buff and polish components utilizing various buffing techniques</li> <li>Prepare components for coatings using various preparation methods</li> <li>Maintain paint spray tools including the spray facility</li> <li>Mix and blend coatings utilizing computerized mix station</li> <li>Follow all established safety procedures</li> <li>Mask appropriate areas as required</li> <li>Inspect components during processing stages</li> <li>Follow build manuals and quality control processes</li> <li>Consult and resolve quality issues as they arise</li> <li>Use body repair materials and methods for composite components</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Experience in auto body finishing and repair</li> <li>Ability to interpret basic instruction via detailed drawings / written instructions</li> <li>Ability to work with minimal supervision</li> <li>Flexible schedule to accommodate shift work if required</li> <li>Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office is an asset</li> <li>An understanding of composite component construction is an asset</li> <li>Experience in manufacturing environments is an asset</li> </ul>
