Overview: <p>Multimatic Product Services specializes in providing product engineering and account management support internally to the company's business units and externally to its customer base. Multimatic Product Services is seeking to recruit a&nbsp;<strong><em>Product Engineer</em></strong>&nbsp;that will report to the Director of Sales and Program Engineering and be responsible for increasing sales penetration and enhancing business profitability by:</p> <ul> <li>Maintaining an exchange of engineering information within Multimatic and between Multimatic and its customers</li> <li>Fostering a healthy working relationships with Multimatic's customers by providing a reliable local presence</li> <li>Supporting external customer program engineers in their responsibilities</li> <li>Supporting internal Technical Service Managers and Product Engineers</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <p>The Product Engineer will be responsible for generating internal engineering reports including sales correspondence and meeting minutes as well as outlining issues and presenting them at platform meetings. Significant time will be spent attending customer meetings and acting as a customer liaison dealing with customer and division requests. The ability to fulfill customer objectives and identify business risks/opportunities will be a strong asset in this role. Previous exposure to the development of open issue lists, management engineering changes, writing proposals, initiating RFQ's and resolving manufacturing issues is necessary.&nbsp;</p>
Requirements: <p><strong>Basic Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>College or university graduate with an engineering degree</li> <li>5-10 years of automotive experience in product design or development is desired</li> <li>Understanding of GD&amp;T principles and relationship to various manufacturing processes</li> <li>Knowledge of customer products and business practices</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Strong familiarity with MS Office applications</li> <li>Valid documentation for international travel is required</li> </ul> <p><strong>Specific Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with one or more OEM design processes and systems</li> <li>Design development experience in Mechanisms and Mechatronic systems is strongly preferred</li> </ul>
