Overview: <p>NJM is seeking an experienced Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources Department. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the administration of the Company&rsquo;s employee benefits programs, providing employee support and advocacy throughout the employment life cycle.</p> <p>To be successful in this position, the Benefits Specialist should have excellent organizational skills and a solid understanding of various benefits processes. Top candidates will also be strong communicators, not only in being able to explain relevant benefits and applicable laws to employees but the additional value the Company&rsquo;s comprehensive benefits offerings provide in support of employee&rsquo;s mental, physical, and financial wellbeing.<br /><br />This full-time position will be based in the West Trenton (Ewing area), New Jersey corporate office. Initially, the position will be on-site, but will become hybrid once fully trained.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Providing support and assistance to employees with regard to all of our benefit programs including medical, dental, prescription, vision, life, disability, 401(k), and retirement planning.&nbsp;</li> <li>Presenting a benefits program review during the orientation program for new employees.</li> <li>Conducting Open Enrollment meetings as well as facilitating educational programs throughout the year in support of other benefit and leave programs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Responding to employees&rsquo; inquiries via phone, email, or in-person meetings in a courteous, timely and accurate manner.&nbsp;</li> <li>Counseling employees as they experience different benefit/life events (marriage, birth, death of a spouse, retirement).</li> <li>Preparing retirement benefit calculations, processing life insurance payments, and calculating disability benefits.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Extensive knowledge of all types of employee benefits and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to convey information to all levels of employees in an understandable manner; comfortable and competent in conducting presentations with various size audiences.</li> <li>High degree of customer service and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Excellent organizational, time management, research, multitasking and analytical skills.</li> <li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.</li> <li>Workday experience is a plus.<br />&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Education and Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 3 years experience working in a Benefits Administration position required.</li> <li>Minimum of an Associate degree in human resources or related field of study; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred.</li> <li>Professional HR and/or Benefit Program certifications strongly preferred such as SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR); CEBS, CMS, or GBA certification.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Legal Disclaimer: NJM is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
