Overview: <p>We are looking for a Workers' Compensation Paralegal who thrives in both a collaborative and independent environment; where diversity within their team and organization is valued. &nbsp;</p> <p>The ideal candidate is one who seeks opportunities to advance development, proactively shares knowledge and expertise and is receptive to new ideas; someone who can demonstrate flexibility in their role, readily adaptable to change, and willing to pursue challenging tasks. The successful candidate will have the option to work up to 2 days per week remotely.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Review and respond to Subpoenas and HIPAAs.</li> <li>Assist management in data analysis and report management.</li> <li>Conduct legal research and summarize case law.</li> <li>Prepare documents, pleadings, motions, legal memoranda and briefs, certifications and affidavits.</li> <li>Provide support to staff attorneys from litigation inception to trial.</li> <li>Provide litigation assistance for regional claims.</li> <li>Provide assistance in civil claims actions and coverage.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Paralegal Certificate is required (from an ABA approved program is preferred).</li> <li>Proficiency in accurately organizing and preparing legal documents.</li> <li>Strong ability to summarize and analyze legal documents and medical records.</li> <li>Conduct, summarize and analyze investigative and/or legal research.</li> <li>Experience working with laws and statutes governing workers' compensation litigation and civil tort litigation in NJ, NY, PA, CT, DE, MD.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and customer service.</li> <li>Excellent organizational/prioritization and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities efficiently.</li> <li>Must have the ability to prioritize and proactively manage a large caseload.</li> <li>Ability to work independently, with mentoring.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Legal Disclaimer: NJM is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
