Overview: NJM Insurance Group, a leading property-casualty insurer, has an immediate opening at our corporate headquarters in West Trenton, New Jersey for a Sr. Cloud Engineer.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Function as the senior Cloud technical lead for both IT and lines of business initiatives. &nbsp;</li> <li>Act as subject matter expert on departmental projects to ensure Cloud engineering initiatives (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) are aligned with NJM's strategic plan and line of business goals. &nbsp;</li> <li>Advise senior staff on technical issues as appropriate.&nbsp;</li> <li>At a project level, serve as a liaison for lines of business to ensure cloud governance through a matrix organizational structure. &nbsp;</li> <li>Ensure Security, Legal, Compliance, Service Levels, and Data Retention requirements are understood and implemented. &nbsp;</li> <li>Influence technical staff in the design and operation of complex computing platforms and management of technology assets.&nbsp;</li> <li>Serve as escalation point of contact for the most complex issues and problem analysis.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ensure staff implements technical solutions according to established IT policies, procedures, patterns, and standards.&nbsp;</li> <li>Lead cross-training efforts to ensure IT staff broadens knowledge and skill depth.&nbsp;</li> <li>Serve as subject matter expert for cloud adoption of next-generation architectures and platforms (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS).&nbsp;</li> <li>Assess technology needs across the enterprise, and within the individual business, lines to determine strategies for meeting business objectives. &nbsp;</li> <li>Determine the next cloud generation security defenses for the protection of NJM data assets.&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop enterprise and departmental roadmaps and collaborate with senior NJM leadership to prioritize work requests that are aligned with the NJM strategic plan and governance.&nbsp;</li> <li>Define, plan, and implement new Cloud architectures and major technology patterns in accordance with roadmaps. &nbsp;</li> <li>Design technical solutions and the associated work breakdown structure so that tasks can be assigned to project staff for completion.&nbsp;</li> <li>Translate the cloud strategy and architecture into a highly accessible and secure technical implementation in accordance with best practices. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide project management expertise and guidance to the Information Technology and PMO departments for Cloud initiatives (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS).&nbsp;</li> <li>Collaborate with developers and ensure that cloud-native workloads are deployed according to IT best practices for security, governance, identity and access management, and monitoring.</li> <li>Ensure all documentation for archive and for consumption by other areas is complete, accurate, and available.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ensure documentation formatting utilizes standard formats and templates were made available (this includes Cloud engineering design, implementation plans, security and compliance documents, service call/ change control records, work orders, and problem tracking tickets).</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>10-15 years of related information technology experience.</li> <li>5-10 years of strong experience directly related to cloud computing (i.e. IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions).</li> <li>Proficiency and experience with AWS and/or Azure services.&nbsp;</li> <li>Build, operate and support AWS and/or Azure Cloud environments.</li> <li>Experience with Linux and Windows Server system administration.</li> <li>Strong expertise in the AWS well-architected Framework and best practices.</li> <li>Knowledge of utilize AWS Cloud Formation &amp; Terraform templates to automate Infrastructure for AWS and Azure.</li> <li>Proficient in developing scripts and scripting languages for cloud services.</li> <li>Strong working knowledge with AWS CLI, S3, EC2, API Gateway, and Lambda, step functions, etc.</li> <li>Develop design &amp; architect solutions using AWS/Azure foundation services VPC/VNet, Compute, Storage, Network &amp; Security.</li> <li>Understanding of TCP/IP networking as well as Cloud Load Balancers, Route53, Security Groups, VPC&rsquo;s, VPN Gateways, Elastic IP&rsquo;s, Subnets, Route Tables, and NAT.</li> <li>Knowledge of AWS CLI and knowledge of JSON and/or PowerShell scripting.</li> <li>AWS - Solutions Architect Certification Preferred.</li> <li>Azure Certification is a plus.</li> </ul> <br />NJM is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
