Full Time

Overview: The overall goal of the BCM program leader is to govern NJM's BCM program for recovery from various types of business disruption. The role will support all business plan activities necessary to enable the company to manage a crisis event as well as meet compliance requirements for BCM planning. The position will be required to document and test business plans to identify plan gaps and develop plan improvement strategies for internal and supplier/supply chain risks.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Work with all functional business areas to develop and maintain a corporate-wide BCM program that addresses business recovery and emergency response management.&nbsp;</li> <li>Liaise with Business Continuity Program Coordinators to develop effective working relationships and documented BCM plans.&nbsp;</li> <li>Liaise with key IT teams to identify gaps, set recovery time objectives, and convey business needs/expectations for technology systems recovery.</li> <li>Execute ongoing business impact analysis and challenge business leaders on the identification of critical functions and services.&nbsp;</li> <li>Design and outline BCM goals, objectives, and scope for business consumption and assist in the development of business-centric BCM plans.</li> <li>Support and own the development of BCM plans and governance.&nbsp;</li> <li>Report to the business continuity steering committee to define BCM goals, objectives, and an ongoing roadmap of improvement initiatives for executive-level directional guidance.&nbsp;</li> <li>Support the IT department in aligning all BCM planning, initiatives, and goals with technology infrastructure capabilities for disaster recovery.&nbsp;</li> <li>Identify and make recommendations for program changes and adapt plans to meet the needs of the business to deliver business value.&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop and execute the maintenance and testing programs for all business plans.</li> <li>Design and facilitate tests and exercises for business plans and crisis management response.</li> <li>Develop and lead periodic tabletop exercises to drive plan training and awareness.</li> <li>Direct and supervise periodic plan exercises to measure effectiveness.</li> <li>Identify and recommend enhanced plan maintenance strategies that remain flexible to organizational changes and event-specific challenges.</li> <li>Facilitate and support the execution of the plans at the time of a crisis event.</li> <li>Lead and facilitate the execution of the plans and support plan navigation for the business at the time of an event.</li> <li>Support executive leadership with crisis event information and corresponding plan execution sequence so that critical decisions can be made.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business or related field</li> <li>Business Continuity Management industry certifications</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in implementing BCM, IT Disaster Recovery and crisis management plans</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge of BCM, IT disaster recovery, crisis management, and supplier risk and contingency concepts,&nbsp; strategies, and solutions</li> <li>Broad-based knowledge of life/safety, physical security, evacuation planning, and other emergency management operations</li> <li>Ability to anticipate and plan for future events and take action to modify the BCM program to changing business, IT, and environmental conditions</li> <li>Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate business and IT risks and their impacts on business operations</li> <li>Experience in selecting, deploying, and using BCM planning tools, emergency/mass notification services, and crisis management platforms</li> </ul> <br />NJM is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
